I'll admit, I totally expected this book to be a fantasy—silly me for getting swept up by the reviews and the cover! I also didn’t expect it to be a reverse harem novel, so I was pleasantly surprised when that element came into play. Cecelia, at 19, initially had me hesitating, because she just graduated high school and had broken up with a fiancé, but I quickly reminded myself not to judge and to continue. Sean and Dominic are in their mid-20s, and knowing that they’ll age well throughout the trilogy definitely kept me hooked. What’s really keeping me invested, though, is the mystery surrounding Cecelia’s dad and his company. I have a few theories I’m eager to see play out in the upcoming books!

Persuade. Provide. Protect.
Secret societies, the mafia, family secrets, betrayals, suspense, and plenty of jaw-dropping sexy moments—this book was absolutely fabulous. Zara and Sean have known each other since childhood, but their relationship has always stayed strictly platonic… until circumstances force them to marry. Or, well, choose to marry. 😏
I haven't read a secret society book in a while, but this one has quickly shot to the top of my list. Plus, it’s set in my favorite city in the U.S.—Chicago—so we’ve got a winner. Personally, I love the idea of secret societies existing, and this book creates a world that feels so real, it almost makes me believe it could be true.
This is easily a 4 out of 5 on the spice chart and make sure you check your trigger warnings

Kane really carried me through this book. He was hilarious and the fake marriage was quite a nice touch, but Hannah was annoying (as everyone else has said) with her complete ignorance to the world around her. I really hope that when I was in my 20s I wasn't this immature.. she also fell down a lot which was kind of annoying. Maybe it has been the constant strong FMCs I have read about that FMCs that are not quite strong really don't jive with me.

Oh boy. At the start I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish this book. Books that involve grief and death from a loved one suddenly tends to make my heart hurt. To read about Morgan going through Complicated grief therapy throughout the book really helped me continue this. It sounds kind of silly, maybe ridiculous, but books like this can really help soothe the soul in a way that you wouldn't understand and here I am feeling like it soothed mine.
“Your grief for Will is just as deep as your love, and that’s not something to be ashamed of. I’m so damned proud to be your friend.”
“Complicated grief happens when your rational mind has accepted the loss, but your emotional mind hasn’t quite gotten there. It keeps you stuck in that first, sharp, acute stage of grief and doesn’t let you move forward.”

"We're a pride. You're Scar, Dante's Mufasa and I'm Simba and Gabe is...Zazu"
I had a feeling this was going to be a favorite of the series for me and I wasn't let down.. My heart rate spiked, my heart broke, my heart was happy. Literally the emotional rollercoaster we are use to from the Twisted Sisters.
I love this series

I swallow hard before asking Duncan, "Has anyone said this building is haunted?"
"No one has mentioned it."
Zoe
Seeing ghosts is not my gift.
Byrd Nash and her writing with mysterious/paranormal undertones is just fabulous. Breathings of the Moon was no exception.
Zoe has zero interest in being with or apart of her family, she wants nothing to do with the Gifts that have been passed down from generation to generation, but she also knows she can't get away from it or the family. When her mother is found dead after being missing for twenty years Zoe is being brought back to the family estate. She wants to find out what happened on the last night of her Mother's life, but no one "seems to know what happened". The family is more interested in celebrating the Legend of the Gale and the rise of the Underhills.
Zoe knows that history is missing, people are lying and using their Gifts to cover up everything. The story goes through how she unravels her own family past. It is gripping, mysterious, so good!
"The Gale takes back what was gifted. The Underhills take back their heritage. You are cast out. Exiled. Alone, without name or power."

Oh lord this book was so close to perfection! It almost beats B&B in my opinion, but B&B still is my favorite. Fionn and Rose were fantastic, they were sassy & ridiculous. It was such an easy read/listen, I had a constant smile on my face throughout the whole time.. well, almost the whole time, the cotton candy part had my eyes wide open.

A very interesting historical fiction book, had some gothic feels to it and I loved the LGBTQ addition to the story. James, the MMC, was hysterical when it came to trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in the world of studying surgery in Edinburgh. He was brought up in a wealthy family so his way of going about society is vastly different then a lot of his companions. Throughout the novel he finds his footing, and his love, while doing some very ghastly things (aka body snatching).
I loved the whole premise of the book, but I found myself tuning out to some of it which is why I am giving it a 3.5 star rating.
