The Resurrectionist by A. Rae Dunlap
slow-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? Character
3.5
A very interesting historical fiction book, had some gothic feels to it and I loved the LGBTQ addition to the story. James, the MMC, was hysterical when it came to trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in the world of studying surgery in Edinburgh. He was brought up in a wealthy family so his way of going about society is vastly different then a lot of his companions. Throughout the novel he finds his footing, and his love, while doing some very ghastly things (aka body snatching).
I loved the whole premise of the book, but I found myself tuning out to some of it which is why I am giving it a 3.5 star rating.
