"How does the saying go? A prince in the keep, a dragon between the sheets?"
I went through a whole range of emotions while reading this second installment of Bloodwing Academy; slow-burn tension, plenty of action, plenty of lies and secrets, fluffy and dragon tailed side characters with attitude just had me turning the pages constantly.
Medra and Blake continue their push and pull relationship but they both grow so much in this book, it was just chef's kiss.
The Bond that Burns is very much an appropriate title for this book.

I feel like I struggled a little bit with this book maybe because I wanted more chapters with Leon since he is such a great character and makes Elise happy. Gabriel was tearing at my heart strings, I know I want to love him because of ZA so much but he's so emo and it's frustrating right now. Dante is another I want to love more, but I just can't go there, yet. As for Ryder, ha. I don't trust him at all.

I really enjoyed the narrators!! They made this book come alive, I normally do not enjoy retellings at all, but really enjoyed this one
There was one downside that happened right at the end that I didn't quite understand and it ruined it to me.

The ending of this book was so freaking good! Really enjoyed it and hoping for more action in the books to come.
I have walked past this book numerous times at the grocery store and almost picked it up on a whim, but decided to wait. They didn't bring it back into the store after they sold all their copies so I was bummed by that, but was happy to see it at the library

Such an adorable meet-cute! Juliette is heading back to Bubee, Tx to finish up her residency as a neurosurgeon and it wasn't the way life was suppose to go. She is determined to continue to be the best neurosurgeon she can be, this little bump won't bother her..buttttt almost falling holding a bunch of coffees and pastries might bother her, until she looks into the eyes of the man who saved her from the ground. "Staring into this guy's eyes. I. Got. Nothing. I am officially broken."
Kai is new to Bubee, a former professional golfer who is set on being the best dad to his Lulu. They had a long move from Hawaii and Texas is vastly different, but he wants to make sure she is taken care of and shown how much she is loved. So he is set on working hard at the local golf course and not dating... even if he can't get the girl he saved from sudden coffee spills out of his head.
This is the second Third Coast Medical Romance I have read and it was just as adorable as Fake Dating the Cardiologist! Daphne's writing is delightful and the series is just so easy to get sucked into.

During this book I realized that I’m just not a cowboy romance fan, or maybe it was the narrators 🫣 something just didn’t click for me with this one.

I have said it before, but I think I found a new favorite mystery/forensic author. This book was probably my favorite one I have read so far! The mystery was fantastic, really did not put it together before it was right in front of me. It was gripping, fast paced and just what I needed today.

This was a solid read, I don't read too many military books, but this one was an easy to digest read. Michael got "lucky" by having AI put into his body to save him from certain death. In the age of AI this was an interesting take on what might be available down the road. After being saved Michael is back in action to complete the mission and taking down GIP.
I enjoyed reading the chapters from the different characters POV and following how Michael got use to using his AI.
