Emma by Jane Austen

I loved it and hated it at the same time, I can't even decide. It took a whole month for me to finish it. Turns out I'm not really into classic or did I choose a wrong book? The plot moves too slow and so many unimportant conversations. But the predictable twists kept me going and I somehow loved that the words are beautifully written.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

**Warning: this text may contain spoilers** I was expecting so much from this book since my friends and a lot of people said that this book is magnificent, but well... I sort of underwhelmed how the story turned out. I enjoyed it until the middle of the plot but totally lost it when the boy asked to change into the wind. And I didn't get the feeling between the boy and Fatima. I want to get this 'fulfilled' feeling after I read the last page of every book, but I just didn't get it when I read The Alchemist. I don't know, maybe this book is just lost in translation? But some lines and moral really did give me encouragement to follow my dreams and never give up on them (sounds cheesy but it's true). This book makes me question: should I read the other Paulo's books since I have bought the bundle one?
Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho

I like it more than The Alchemist! Though it's a whole different genre, still it's about searching for the true existence of ourselves, right? It's been ages I haven't read a romance novel and to begin again with this book is the right decision. This story is so close to our life (depends on how you interpret it), but in my opinion, it is. The words are beautifully written, perfectly poetic.
I was wondering how a man could write in the perspective of a woman until I read the last sentence of the Afterword: I got that breathtaking, fulfilled feeling. Paulo is such a brilliant writer.

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

One Hundred Years of solitude is a book that tells the story about Buendia's family for 6th generation (I guess?). I read this book for entertainment in my spare time and it was a mistake. It took me 2 weeks to finish it and I had to copy the family tree from the front page so I wouldn't get lost. This book is not everyone's cup of tea because magical realism might mess your head up. I had to make several stops and re-read the lines so I could understand what exactly happened. But after I trapped in the labyrinth of this cursed family, I couldn't stop. The journey with this book has given me a rollercoaster feeling: from confused, gross, to sad. And for me, it is a sign of how good the book is.
"Wherever they might be they always remember that the past was a lie, that memory has no return, that every spring gone by could never be recovered, and that the wildest and most tenacious love was an ephemeral truth in the end."

The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace

I was kinda disappointed when I just pre-ordered this book and I read the review on goodreads, turned out some people aren't into this book. Emily May's review said that hitting enter after every word does not make it poetry. And well, I do feel the author put so many spaces and sometimes I feel it is not THAT necessary. And this book actually takes so many spaces for such short poems, I guess the size could be smaller.
But in the end, I do enjoy this book. I even have some of my favorites. This book is a reflection of the author's personal experience and as a person who also writes poem, I appreciate it. It is not easy to open up about your scars, your past, to the world by pouring it into words. Overall, I enjoyed it but not a big fan.
