One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
5.0
One Hundred Years of solitude is a book that tells the story about Buendia's family for 6th generation (I guess?). I read this book for entertainment in my spare time and it was a mistake. It took me 2 weeks to finish it and I had to copy the family tree from the front page so I wouldn't get lost. This book is not everyone's cup of tea because magical realism might mess your head up. I had to make several stops and re-read the lines so I could understand what exactly happened. But after I trapped in the labyrinth of this cursed family, I couldn't stop. The journey with this book has given me a rollercoaster feeling: from confused, gross, to sad. And for me, it is a sign of how good the book is.
"Wherever they might be they always remember that the past was a lie, that memory has no return, that every spring gone by could never be recovered, and that the wildest and most tenacious love was an ephemeral truth in the end."
