This was a rollercoaster of a book, a lot of plot twists even though some of them was pretty obvious. I really liked this book, but it reminded me a lot about The Selection book.
I’m really excited to read what’s happening next! Can’t wait to buy it! :)

Awesome book! I was reading it, and devouring it-and then I got to a point, wow, I don't want anything else to happen to these characters! It made it hard to read the rest of the book, but in a good way! Can't wait for the sequel!

Obsessed. That’s literally all I have to say.
From the very first chapter I was 100% invested. I’ve stayed away from series books especially those that don’t have a tied up end each book but I went out on a limb cause I loved the premise and WOwie am I glad I did. It’s a solid mix between Divergent, Hunger Games & the Selection (about 20%, 10% & 70%, respectively) but with its own twists and ideas as well. SO good.

This book has me very torn because while it is interesting I also feel like I have read it before. It feels so much like The Selection but with a sci fi twist of cloning.
At times it was incredibly hard to read because of the sheer amount of physical and emotional abuse that Mr Ramsey inflicts on Victoria, with very little resolution. It feels like the author wanted a Cinderella story, except the evil stepmother beat Cinderella within an inch of her life and left Cinderella to meet the prince with two black eyes.
If the escaping abuse storyline isn't your thing, steer far away from this book. It is here and the abuser keeps popping in to ruin our heroine's day.
I'm really unsure if I'll finish the series. If its a Cinderella story, I know how it ends. But reading the abuse and manipulation is truly jarring and hard to stomach at times.

Wanted to love this Book but didn't
I was so excited by the premise that I bought all three books before I read the first one. A royal succession story but each of contenders for the throne is a clone sounded amazing.
However, I found the book kinda disappointing. I don't know if the author did a good enough job of flushing out nature versus nurture (a hard conceptual concept to be sure) and distinguishing the clonettes from each other.
Plus I found the love story fall flat as it was never clear why the clonette whose POV we follow was so special to the prince and the Prince was kinda wishy-washy. (I will be honest some of this could have been that I only have enough patience for about 2 will the won't they breakups.

I finished this book purely for the sake of my 50 book challenge.
I think the author must have read the Selection series and said to himself, "How can I take this concept and execute it in a worse way?"
The book was confusing from the first chapter. There was almost no logical motivation behind any of the characters. There was insta-love left and right. And completely unnecessary and graphic child abuse.

Wonderful!
I really enjoyed this book! The plot is so interesting, I love how horrible the queen is! The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because I wasn't all that into the dystopian future that was more like the past. It was a little confusing. I got used to it, but it still threw me off that in this future they dress almost Victorian, but then also have jeans, tvs, limos, and cell phones. Otherwise, such a strong plot, story, and characters.

So much better than I was expecting! I read almost all of it in one sitting!
Victoria is such a complex character. And the idea behind a princess bring cloned so that she can be replaced is a very interesting take on a dystopian novel. This series is set in a future after the collapse of the USA. I can't say much more or else this will become a spoiler review.
If you like dystopian novels, try this one! Now it's onto book 2 for me!

Short version:
It was fine. Just fine. I'm not reading the rest of the series.
Long version:
I found this book hovering in my Kindle library yesterday. I didn't remember when I bought it or what it was about but you know what? Why not. It's a new year and I'm trying to clear out my library to make room for books I'm actually excited about reading, so consider my time reading this book a little bit of "New Years cleaning". And while I don't exactly regret reading this book, I do have a few choice words.
First of all, some of this book is basically a direct rip off of the Selection series. Believe me, I've read more competition-based royalty romance than I'd like to admit, and these two are eerily similar. Royal Replicas is like if you took the Selection and combined it with the Hunger Games. Sounds amazing, right? Not exactly. Firstly, the character building was practically nonexistent and all the characters were pretty static. The main issue I had with this book, though, was the blatant disregard towards the "show don't tell" rule. Every action, every emotion, and every event is basically just explained in dialogue from one of the characters. When I read a sci-fi romance I want drama and emotion and passion and this book was giving me none of that. Victoria annoyed me immensely. She was supposed to be this strong heroine but she just wasn't. She sacrificed her own life for a guy she went on one, ONE date with. Usually I can look past that if there's some meaning behind it, but the romantic tension wasn't enough for me to overlook her stupidity. Kale was the worst character in the entire book. I probably would've hiked the book up a star if he was completely erased. Lastly, the ending twist was incredibly disappointing.
Positives: It only took me about 3 hours to read and the pages flew by. The second twist kept me on the edge of my seat and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bethany and Piper were a fun dynamic, and I liked her attendant.
Bottom line: If you want a quick read that takes little to no effort, go for it. Personally I'd suggest The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton instead, but it's all up to your own personal preference.
