I love to cry with this series. Don’t get me wrong the stories are beautiful and there’s so much drama. But they are worth it. Brenda Novak made a little town full of romance and emotions.

Cheyenne was not my favorite from the group, mostly because we barely see her before this book and Dylan wasn’t even mentioned before, but these two are actually so pretty together. They are both outsiders, suffered so much and now are so normal.

I liked Dylan more, maybe because his life was more difficult, he had to grow up alone and find a way to support his four brothers, but he also had love.

Cheyenne suffered way to much in Anita’s hand and I cannot believe everything her family made her go through. But even after all these she’s a nice girl and thinks more of others. She deserved some happiness and Dylan was perfect because he understand her like no one else. I cried way to much with this couple but it was so good.

Cheyenne was such an annoying FMC. Plus, the whole child kidnapping plot was minimized so much--you would think with that topic, it would play a huge part of the story. But nope, it didn't.

I really hope this series never ends! Each story is so unique and exciting, and full of great characters!

A little slow going at times but once I got closer to the end it started to pick up.
The one thing I did not like was how the story kept jumping to minor characters in this story like Presley, Eve and Joe. I felt this was a little unnecessary.

2 1/2 stars! I feel this rating is pretty generous.

This was the first Brenda Novak book that I almost gave up on.
I found this incredibly hard going.

For starters, the "hero" of this story doesn't make an appearance until around the 20% mark. That is literally a fifth of the book where he doesn't even exist! Then he says one slightly rude thing to the 31 year old virgin and wham! she's in bed with him.

I didn't LOVE the group of friends in previous book. They were even worse in this.
Super judgemental and annoying.
Also seriously? they suspect Sophia's husband is abusive, but none of them actually give a flying you know what to actually help her.
Eve is the most annoying character ever written and I couldn't care less if that character ever gets her love story.

The only remotely likeable character in this whole book was Dylan.
Cheyenne was wimpy and a tad too martyr-ish for my liking. There is also no mystery aspect. She spends the last few pages finding out about her past but made no actual effort herself even though that is supposedly what she wants.

As I write this review I cannot help but wonder if someone else and not Brenda Novak actually wrote this? I usually devour her series of books...now I am dreading reading the others.

Last of all, if you are interested in this author, do NOT start with this series, try reading The Last Stand series or the Stillwater series, they are amazing books.

There were two major things wrong with this book that stopped my enjoyment of it:

1. The Heroine spends the majority of the book convinced she is in love with another guy.

Now that alone wouldn't be enough to let the story down as very often there is always a jilted party but in this case we not only get Joe (the third wheel's) perspective but we also don't meet the Hero until 70 pages into the book by which time I am actually quite invested in Joe/Cheynelle and would like to see them live happy ever after thank you very much.

Then it gets worse. Having decided that she can't risk her friendship with Eve to continue to date Joe, Cheynelle throws herself at Bad Boy Dylan and ends up losing her virginity to him in, what she considers at the time, a one night stand. Cheynelle, the girl who has spent her whole life trying to be the opposite of her horrid Mum and sister (more of them later) and not give anything to anyone in the small town to gossip about decides to throw it all away at the spur of the moment.

Having done that, she still contemplates a future with Joe whilst sleeping with Dylan and merrily swings between the two even when she has unprotected sex with Dylan and worries that there's a possibility she may be pregnant. Then, all of a sudden, in a blink of an eye, she decides she's actually in love with Dylan and worries about convincing her friends that he's

WHAT?!

Darn right he's good for her. Dylan really is the lone redeeming thing in this whole book. Lord knows why he lets Cheynelle treats him like she does.

2. Cheynelle's mother and sister.

In some situations maybe having a side plot of Cheynelle finding out the truth about her childhood and where she comes from would really work but all this did was highlight what an awful person her mother is and her sister comes a close second. I won't waste anyone's time by detailing their many crimes but needless to say I thought it was a needless waste of words when the author went on a plot detour from Presley's perspective showing us what happens to her after she left Whiskey Creek.

I liked it but found Cheyenee too be too wishy washy for me and all. Also her friends were very judgmental just like she was about Dylan. I liked dylan okay , but the one I liked the most was Joe. Why all of a sudden when he is interested, isn't she interested anymore. Plus Presley seemed like a wash out to me but i liked her character. It's unrealistic to think that when you are on a cruise you can reach someone easily. I felt like I would have liked to learn more about Cheynne's past. I can't wait for Joe,Presley and Sophia's story. It was ridiculous how involved her friends were in her love life. I liked how soft hearted Dylan was and his relationship with his brothers and how he knew how the town felt about him. The character of Presley is why I give this book 4 stars, plus Aaron and the rehab issues. What right do her friends have to stage an intervention? One thing I liked about the book was how much respect Joe and Dylan had for her each other, and how Eve was ready to step aside.
