I really didn’t like this book. I didn’t connect with the main character or the story. It had a slow pace and only halfway through the book did it start to pick up. 2 stars for great writing.

this was not necessarily boring, once i actually sat down and read it, i got through it very fast, but not a whole lot happened at the same time that a lot happened so idk how to really feel

the topic of grief was a huge one in this book and i appreciated the way it was told through casey and practically her whole life being in shambles. she made it though

Fantastic - highly highly recommend

Captures the struggles of 20 somethings and “creatives” and imposter syndrome and everything. 10/10

I loved it. Was trying to decide if it should be 4 instead of 5, saving 5 for the bowl me over books. But I loved the writing and the concepts and the resolution. So: 5. No, 4.5... I still can't decide.

This became painful to get through it was so self-pitying, but buried in thinly veiled, autobiographical musings on a young 30-something wanna be writer are a few poetic lines worth reading.

I wouldn't call this a page turner but as the story evolves I was mesmerized where it was going. Where her characters were going. A very good book.

for some reason i thought this book was a classic??? so color me surprised when i looked it up and it came out in 2020. like what?? this is practically historical fiction in the way that it perfectly harnessed living in 1997, even though that was a decade before i was alive. casey's struggles hit home for me (another struggling writer) who fears what the future will look like if i choose to pursue it as a career. seeing her life really come together in the end was hopecore at its finest

i went into this book with high expectations, but unfortunately i was disappointed. the beginning of the book was hard to get into, and i almost dnf’d around 30%. however, i realized i dislike stopping partway through a book more than i could ever dislike any book itself. the second half of the book was significantly better than the first, and there are some beautifully written paragraphs, but as a whole it just didn’t work for me.
