started weirdly annoying (i almost dnfed) because of so many things happening at once but something about the storytelling pulls you into rooting for casey even though 1) she shares everything and nothing at the same time and 2) she has questionable life decisions

eventually you understand where she’s coming from and why she is the way she is. despite her circumstances she remains kind and open to life, and you can’t help but feel relieved to finally see her life take a turn for the better. this book feels like getting to know a stranger you’re sure you won’t get along with and becoming one of their good friends in the end
