I'm a lover of weird and aliens/monster romance but this one just couldn't keep me interested. Too slow for such a short story I think? Idk it just wasn't for me.
It had a lot of potential and there were good moments but overall for le it was just a bit mehh 💁🏼♀️ I was just underwhelmed and debated dnf'ing it about 60% in and afterwards I just read diagonally tbh ...
The other tribes and aliens and all feel forced to have at least some kind of ''plot'' while there is practically none the first half of the book. I don't think I'll be trying any of the other series any time soon 😕
It was a funny quick read. A good palette cleanser. But yeah don't overthink it like I did haha. Therapy didn't work but one quick fuck with two strange marshmallow bunny men fixes all the trauma. Ok. 😆 Also uhhh they missed her? But the last time she ate mellows she was 6 years old.. uhhh yeah ok. Well.. uhh. Sure. Ok. 👀😂
I like the mmc's She does not deserve them tho. She's an annoying brat tbh, incredible stupid, like actually DUMB. But still thinks she knows everything better about an alien planet that the alien actually living there.. The name Jane is mentioned a few times to many for my liking. And although I like some chaos this was just one chaotic thought of hers after another. It was just her talking to herself all the time and mainly bringing down other women for being annoying or a bitch or stupid. Whole she's all of those things. 😀 But somehow I kept Reading 'cus I wanted to know the story. I'm totally invested in the mmc's and want the best for them. I'll just have to our up with her to do so I guess 🤷🏼♀️
It's quite a lot to take in. A whole lot happening and a lot of names and titles being used straight away without very much context (things do become a little more clear going through the story) it is a prequel novella after all so even tho it was a little confusing to start, it does seem like it's gonna be a good story and I want to know more. Also there was spice immediately on page one haha so there's that. 😝 I didn't mind as it did fit into the story imo.
I do like the fact that it's mentioned it will be a why choose and won't stay MF in future books and I wonder how that'll happen and what Theo's place will be in all of it 'cus I do like him 🤗
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
5.0
Obviously I should rate this 1 star because it is a standalone and I won't be getting any more of this 🙄 Look I'm a magic, wings, tentacles kinda girl... But this? Didn't miss those things for a second. Didn't even notice it wasn't there until well halfway tbh. I was in this world, I was among these people and I was confused and scared every step of the way in the best way possible. Every time I thought haha so this is what's up! ... Guess what, it wasn't what was up. My notebook is full of funny conversations/banter between a massive list of one question after another with a lot of who, how, why, what, huh involved. 🫠 Sending my theories to Nicole and getting evil laughter in return only added to my torment. 🥲 She asked herself whether she was evil or just an author. She's both. Authors are often evil people who are smart enough not to be evil irl and avoid going to prison by just writing about it. And this is certainly true for Nicole. 😗 I was completely invested in these characters and I'll miss them dearly. I absolutely loved being on the edge of my seat as much as I have during this journey. 🫡🤍
I was in no shape or form prepared for this rollercoaster of emotions. I cried happy tears, sad tears and angry tears. 5 stars for me is I loved everything about it and I shall recommend this until my dying breath. Being on R.Moody's street team I was hoping and wishing I would like the book because she's just such an awesome person. And by getting to know her little by little I got more and more confident that I was gonna like it and her writing style. And damn she exceeded my expectations my soooooo much. If you haven't read this, do yourself a frickin favor and read it please. You won't regret it. 🤍🤓
