This book is just WOW. It took me a while to get into, but the story is so heartbreaking. The story of two loves that marriage has been ripped away by a terminal illness. The book walks alongside Joshua as he processes his wife’s ultimate death within the first year without her. It tugs on the heart strings. Josh and Lauren’s love was just pure and what I think genuine love looks like.
The book was predictable, but it was good overall. I’m kinda relieved the series is over. I could’ve just easily stopped reading but i was already so invested in the book, the characters, and the plot i needed to finish it out. I knew who Belly was going to chose at the end, but I guess I wanted to still be hopeful about if she would’ve chose differently. However, I am wishing Belly and her husband a wonderful marriage and great life together. I loved the letters at the end. I hope the author will release like bonus chapters of them in the future after the reading has taken place and a few years into marriage. I would like a little update about how everyone is doing in a few years that has passed by.
I liked this book way better than the first one. Belly definitely matured compared to the first book. Although, she is still trying to figure out her love for either Conrad or Jeremiah. That can be confusing for any girl. I feel like the book was precise and clear. I loved the dual POV from two of the main characters. I wish I got Conrad’s POV so I’m hoping that’s in the next book.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I wanted to read this book before watching the series to see what was better - the show or book. I found the main character (Belly) to be very annoying and the story to be slow paced. I wanted to keep reading to see what the hype was about. I feel like at the end is when the character actually started to act her age and took things serious. There were many times where I wanted to quit the book because I was bored and annoyed of the character.
I liked this book. It revolved around the idea of marriage and the work marriage takes. It’s emotional in ways that it talks about space between Lauren and her husband, spending time with siblings, celebrating a new member of the family and the potential for a new marriage. As well as, processing a unfortunate death in the family. This book is a whirlwind of emotions and shows that marriage is not about love or making the other person happy. Marriage is about sacrifice and open communication.
Gosh. Where to begin. I was intrigued from the beginning. It was so hard to put the book down. I was desperate to find out what happened with these two after 11 years of lost contact. This book definitely takes you on a whirlwind of emotions. I love how the authors go back in time and then focus on the now. I’m so happy they both received that closure from that night where Macy’s life changed forever. I am super happy that they bumped into each other again. I also loved how Elliot is so gentle with her. Everything about this book is just lovely.
