Merry Little Mishap by Vivian Mae

3.0

Merry Little Mishap by Vivian Mae is a short Christmas novella about Nick and Elena, who have been secretly admiring each other from a distance. Nick, as Elena’s super, keeps finding excuses to see her—like dragging out fixing her sink. When they get stuck in an elevator on Christmas Eve, things heat up quickly, and the spice is definitely there. While the premise had potential, the execution fell a bit flat for me, and it just didn’t fully hit the mark.

Wow! Axes and O's by Kayla Grosse was HOT! When Nathan gets stranded and rescued by married couple Fox and Morgan, things quickly heat up, and the chemistry between all three of them is off the charts. It’s a quick read packed with steamy moments, and Kayla delivers both the heat and a solid story.

Thank you to Kayla Grosse for providing an ARC for review.
The Women by Kristin Hannah

The Women by Kristin Hannah is one of the most emotional reads I’ve ever experienced—I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much while reading. The story is both heart-wrenching and educational, shedding light on the experiences of women during the Vietnam War in a way I hadn’t known before. Kristin's meticulous research made it feel like we were truly following a real nurse through the chaos of war. She didn’t sugarcoat the harsh realities, and the ending stayed true to the difficult journey these women faced.
If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens

I was really excited for an enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance with If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens, but I struggled to get into it. Pen’s behavior was harsh, and she completely wrecked Neil’s self-esteem, making it hard to root for their relationship. While the book had a lot of great representation, it ultimately felt lacking and fell short of my expectations.

Thank you to St. Martins Press and NetGlalley for providing me with an ARC.
You, with a View by Jessica Joyce

I kept seeing You with a View by Jessica Joyce on must-read lists all summer, and I’m so glad I finally picked it up. I was a bit skeptical about the idea of a road trip with someone's grandpa, but it completely won me over. The story took me on a heartfelt journey, and I loved watching Noelle and Theo grow and heal in their own ways. It’s a perfect blend of emotion and adventure that left a lasting impression.

I was so excited to pick up The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling after loving the first two books in the series, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The Pennhallow brothers are just as charming as ever, and I want more of them. This installment's time travel adventure was fantastic, and that bathtub scene—wow, it was HOT! With a great mix of new side characters and a satisfying conclusion, this book wrapped up the series in a way that left me completely happy and wanting more from this magical world.

Thank you to Erin Sterling, NetGalley, and Avon and Harper Voyager for an eARC for review.
Falling in Vermont by Elise Kennedy

Falling in Vermont by Elise Kennedy was the perfect fall novella, filled with insta-love, healing, and just the right amount of spice! Elise has become one of my insta-buy authors, and this story didn’t disappoint. Even though it’s a novella, it packed in a lot of emotional growth, especially with Blake working through his past trauma, which blended seamlessly into the plot. I adored the side characters and really hope we see more of Clovely in the future!

Thank you to Elise Kennedy for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
The Love Losers by Angela Casella

I absolutely loved The Love Losers by Angela Casella! Anthony and Rosie were the perfect match, and their chemistry was spot-on—they were exactly what each other needed. The touch of mystery added a fun twist to the romance, keeping me hooked. This story does deal with some heavy topics, like the loss of parents and cheating partners, which gave it emotional depth. I did get a bit confused by some of the side characters, but that’s only because I haven’t read their books yet. Since I enjoyed this one so much, I’m definitely going back to read the rest of the series. Also, Joy was such a delight—I’d love to see her get her own book!

Scotch and Shortbread by August Lindsay

Just finished Scotch and Shortbread by August Lindsay, and it was a fun insta-attraction story with lots of teasing and flirting! Alex has sworn off women after a bad breakup, so when he runs into Quinn and theres an instant attraction, he's not sure what to do. There’s a ton of slow burn tension that builds until nearly the last quarter of the book. While the ending felt a bit rushed after all the angst, it was still a fun read if you're into slow burn romances!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.
