This was really cute and a book I wish was around when I was a kid. I love that she has a pumpkin as a pet. I definately am curious to read more. The idea of creatures of Dark and Light is intriguing for a middle grade book.

Gorgeous, moving. The artwork is absolutely amazing. I'm also impressed how Khaled Husseini got so much emotion in so little words. I can't even imagine half of what Syrian refugees go through.

I appreciate this so much more as an adult. This was required during my senior year in high school, but I wasn't honestly in the mental space to read this. The way Khaled Hosseini write is an art form itself. It flowed really well. It was also a hard story to read. It's interesting to see how Afghanistan was before the Taliban came.

I really enjoyed it. It's not the most unique story but this is a light fantasy for book lovers. I felt like the romance didnt over take everything, which is nice.

Tapajós River in Brazil. I got this as a prime first reads. The artwork is beautiful. I don't have a lot of knowledge of Brazil, but it was interesting to see how the village on the river must evacuate during the rainy season. It might have been a beautiful, children's but it was educational, easy to understand and a fun read.

I read this twice back to back. There's so much to say. A couple of the poems that made me tear up. It's insane how society treats people. I liked that it did include Americans from Guam and Puerto Rico that get treated as a "domestic foreigner".

"Origin/Adoption" by Marci Calabretta Cancio-Bello was the poem that shined the brightest to me.

It was my least favorite of the trilogy but the best written. I don't regret listening to it cause I got a conclusion. It's not a bad book, just not for me.
