This is a great ending to a great series and I'm glad I gave an entire weekend to reading it. It's somewhat hilarious that what saves the realm in the end is Taristan being too much of a wife guy. Good for him tbh. Things feel well concluded after the end of this book, which is always something I like at the end of the series. The slowburn romance was frustrating as hell but in a good way, though there's not much of a payoff for it without the B&N exclusive bonus scene.

I really wish this was a full length novel. I want more of the folklore and more development of the character relationships. It was still a fun read with a lot going on even though it was short.

Oh how dare there only be 2 books in this series when I love Mosscap so much. These are such fun cozy reads to spend an afternoon on.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.

I found this author on social media and thought the book sounded cool so I wanted to give it a shot to support a new author. And I just can't. The beginning relies too much on cliches and coincidences for me to get into story. It's very possible that it ultimately ends up breaking these cliches and doing something new them, but I wasn't able to get far enough into the book to tell. The characters may be very likeable, but there's nothing about them in their introductions that encourages me to stick around long enough to find out. I'd love to try harder but there are just too many books in the world to read and this one didn't do enough to pull me in and convince me that I should stick it out.

Still not my thing, I just wanted to get my reading numbers up. I probably would've enjoyed it more if was time to get to know the characters better and actually like them.
