Accidental Bonds by Marie Reynard
4.0
Victor, a magic shy alpha, hires a local mage to fix his packs failing wards, only for it to reveal further blight on the pack lands. In order to stop the decay and save his pack from destruction, Victor must trust Elijah and his magic to save them.
Despite how much he detests Mages, putting his trust in Elijah comes easily, especially with the explosive chemistry between them, Elijah's delicious scent, and the accidental bond (hehe) tethering them together.
Honestly, I went about this a bit backwards, Matehub: Legend was my first read by Marie and I fell in love... I'm talking like obsessed levels, have read the book more time than I can count, will love it forever... That kind of obsessed.
Of course, because I love Hunter and Richard so much, I obviously need to read everything else Marie has written, and honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect from Accidental Bonds. With Matehub being very heavily spiced, obviously given that it's a story about two porn stars, I wasn't entirely sure if Accidental Bonds would follow similarly--hint, it doesn't, but when the spice hits it's fantastic.
Victor and Elijah's story has an action packed overarching plot, is filled with hilarious side characters, has tons of snarky banter, and a delicious tension filled slow burn romance. Very much looking forward to more of this series, and cannot wait for Kade and Liam's story in Impulsive Connections!

- grumpy x sunshine
- opposites attract

After inheriting a building from a grandfather he never knew, Clay finds himself in Buffalo with only one plan: sell the building and move back to Missouri to start his own construction company.
That plan goes sideways after meeting Nicholas, the bubbly sunshine filled florist, who rents part of the building for his business.
Sparks fly between Clay and Nicholas the more the pair interact and spend time together, and with the tension growing between them, the pair decide to start hooking up while Clay is in town.
As you can expect, the two fool around and fall in love! Their story was super sweet, definitely steamy, and just all around cozy and adorable.

Jeffrey, an underground tour guide for a brothel steeped in history, has his livelihood threatened when the owner reveals buyers are interested in purchasing the location.
Willing to do anything to save his home and job, Jeffrey makes a deal with Odai, an incubus, who he finds chained away in the very tunnels he gives tours nightly, to save Madame Mattie’s from being sold.
Over the centuries, Odai has had many masters, but none like Jeffrey. Odai quickly finds himself enamored with the wonderful man, and each new wish granted has him hoping that maybe Jeffrey will be the one who can save him from his curse and ultimately free him.
Honestly this was a surprisingly sweet story about self discovery, found family, freedom, and love. Jeffrey and Odai’s chemistry was fantastic, and their romance was so adorable and perfect—even with its hiccups.

Save the Game by J.J. Mulder

Firstly, friends, check the triggers and then buckle up because Save the Game smacked me right in the feels.
I cried.
Like a lot. A LOT.
But just know that Max Kuemper deserves all the love and hugs in the world, and must be protected at all costs.
AND LUKE!!! The way he was so patient, and constantly supported and protected Max when he needed it the most… 🥹😭😍
I loved them, and I loved this.

It was this exact moment that I fell in love with the precious angel babies that are Zeke Cassidy and Carter Morgan III.

Shots on Net is definitely one of my new faves. I laughed, I teared up, I squealed… It was wonderful.
That ending though, HOW DARE?!?! 🤣

The Magician's Heart by J.P. Jackson
3.0
Honestly, I'm on the fence about The Magician's Heart.
The story follows Allan, who learns he has magical abilities after an attempted assault by his POS ex-boyfriend activates his magic while on a camping trip with a pair of their mutual friends. Unfortunately for Allan, coming into his powers accidentally kills everyone, and upsets the Fae whose island he and his friends had been trespassing on, who want retribution for the murders.
Enter Patrick, the area's most powerful water witch, who finds himself in charge of cleaning up the mess Allan's newfound magic made. On top of cleaning up a trio of dead bodies, Patrick strikes up a deal with the Fae to keep the peace, and must teach Allan about his powers in the limited time provided until the Fae bargain must be met.
As if that wasn't enough, Allan's magic is not wanting to cooperate, which has him and Patrick looking for a loophole that will get Allan out of the Fae deal, all while exploring the chemistry and ever growing feelings between them as the clock runs down on their time together.
I loved the world building and water magic, and thought the story had a lot of potential, but never fully connected with Allan or Patrick. To be quite honest, I was more interested in Patrick's pets Kaos and Argus, and his life as water witch, than I was with Allan and all his drama lol
Still a solid story, even if it wasn't for me!

I'm honestly not sure why this book didn't get as much love as The Coven, because I thought it was a fantastic conclusion to Willow and Gray's story.
Plus I mean c'mon, the Devil was a total simp for his Witchling, there was tons of coven drama and brutal betrayal, and that ending?!!? *chefs kiss*
- forced proximity
- captor x captive

Angel by Linden Bell

Angel, bless him, was so sweet and innocent, which balanced out all the confidence and sass from Rhys. & to top it off, Angel was absolutely swoony!

Plus the chemistry between him and Rhys on and off screen was magnetic, and their scenes together were off the charts hot 🥵
