Two Point Conversion by Emerson Beckett, Rheland Richmond
5.0
Oh we get a novella for Simon, Jackson & Parker! A baby sister just like they’d hoped & intended for by the end of their book (3). Loved the “pay it forward” action with little Ava’s mama. Completely forgot about Jackson’s college friend Luca 🤭 but I’m honestly not surprised bc I skipped past book 2, read Simon & Jackson’s to then decide to give book 2 (Aidan Hayes & Marcus) a try; I didn’t exactly set my poor brain 🧠 up for success 😂 anyway, now for the final audiobook my library has but isn’t the final book in this series. Seriously love the combination of Alexander Cendese & J.F. Harding narration, also love how duet narration pops up every so often too! Listened via Hoopla Anythink.
Pass Interference by Emerson Beckett, Rheland Richmond

This was so much better than I expected!! Adrian’s long held anger at Marcus & the unresolved closure between them turned out to not last too long thankfully. It’s interesting how we learn about how & when they marry but we the reader don’t get the details 🤷🏻♀️😂 anyway, this picks up during the events of book 1 (read in listed order) & I absolutely love it when an author does this. These two definitely deserved & earned their happily ever beginning. We don’t hear from Marcus’s son Trent much but it’s understandable bc he lives with mom 1/2 of the time. Really enjoying this series so far! Listened via Hoopla Anythink.
Unnecessary Roughness by Emerson Beckett, Rheland Richmond

Oh man, this was a bit of a heartbreaker due to the loss of a child’s mother from an unexpected car accident & internal issues. But, there was plenty of reasons for laughter too! This group of people are what so many of us readers wish our lives had irl. Not just a band of brothers but family even before the first book. Parker is one grown up 10 year old & despite the loss of his mother, knew despite scares of foster care that Jackson was his last person. The authors definitely did a fantastic job of showing the resilience kids have no matter the age & while we don’t get too much from any of the therapist visits, I was very happy to see that here. Simon & Jackson, best friends with a 15 year age gap. Love definitely is not a number & death can find us at any age. Now I have to go back to book 2 & read it, didn’t feel up to a prolonged animosity from Aiden Hayes’ POV but obviously a lot takes place in it so 😂 listened via Hoopla Anythink.
MM Romance Christmas Box Set by Isobel Starling

So each short story had its moments but honestly my fav was Back Where He Belongs bc Scotland the land of my heart & lineage. Anyway, it’s also a second chance with a bit of pup play that at the beginning I wasn’t too keen about but soon began to understand better. Anyway, feeling all those good vibes. The Quarterback Keeper by Emerson Beckett, Rheland Richmond

Well, this one had kids & I do love them expertly inserted into the story, like this one. Plus … dogs. So many feels. Cendese & Harding are a new to me duo narration & it was fantastic! And the MMCs were a great start to this series. Really liked how adult they were (compared to other characters by other authors) when it came to keeping their relationship hidden but only for a certain amount of time. Also, the asking forgiveness & minor groveling was 👩🍳 💋 listened via Hoopla Anythink.
Only One Coffin by A.J. Truman
fast-paced

This was so much fun!! Even though it had to have a bit of a scare scene with vampire hunters. The witty banter was on point per Truman’s other works & I loved the second chance at love for established 300+ year old Magnus. Kilroy was a bit too on the nose for being a 25 year old himbo, but loveable nonetheless & a great character companion. The epilogue brought who I wholly expected it to & made me so happy. The Reclusive Mountain Man by Casey Cox
5.0
Eeek! It’s all done but was so fun. Older MCs, best friends & secretly in love with each other. I loved that this one didn’t go the typical norm (older top, younger bottom). Marsh & Tag have been friends since forever. Both intended to share their feelings for each other during Tag’s short trip & while Marsh did have to sort through his feelings once Tag left, everything turned around almost immediately. Loved how these two decided on how to build a life together separating the year between the States & Australia, compromise never looked so easy. Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
The Curious Mountain Man by Casey Cox

A male librarian!! I think we the readers need more of those in MM/M/M/gay romance. Anyway, Branham & PJ were so cute & the small matter of miscommunication was really that small & only required an easy explanation/answer. Loving these brothers so far & their guys. Now for Marsh’s story! Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
The Silent Mountain Man by Casey Cox

For a short story, I really loved this one especially because it was a second chance. Casey Cox has VERY quickly become a fav author & I’m excited that my library has access to their work on Hoopla. I’m also excited that all 3 stories are published! Just wish vet shop boys down under were available ⬆️ but oh well. Back to our MMCs, Harrick & Eddie had a decade to grow up & mature in spite of how they were suddenly separated & what transpired soon after. I swear, literally no one escapes this life unscathed bc until humanity is gone nasty, bad, atrocious people will always exist & hurt people hurt people. I love how Cox gently touches on sensitive topics like conversion therapy, abuse in all forms, and life’s general struggles with care but blatant honesty. Kirt Graves is my top favorite narrator & he never disappoints bringing a story to life. Listened via Hoopla Burbank.
