I think as far as sequels go, this one smashed it out of the park! The Accidental Medium has fast become one of my favourite series and it has such a delight of humour and paranormal elements. One other thing I will say about the series is that it goes in different directions with each book. This one took Tanz out of her comfort zone on so many different levels and was mainly set in another country, away from her solid and reliable friends, Sheila, her cat, Inka and all that was known and comforting to her. I missed her community as I find them awesome, but this book was fantastic in a way that she grew while being in a different place and she can easily go back to that location and the 'norm' in the next book.

This is the first book of the series that I read instead of listened to and while I sorely missed Tracy Whitwell's narration, I could hear Tanz in my head in her glorious broad Geordie and it was very good to read too. Anyone that hasn't heard the audio book versions of these should get on those. Right. Now!

Tanz made new friends in this book as well as meeting some duds and she grew her talent in a way that she couldn't have done unless forced out on her own, with no power, cut off from communications and being force fed revolting rotting shark...
This book meant a lot more on a spiritual level and I think that this, along with the normal wow factor and swear word frequency made it a winner. I think Tanz is the refreshingly honest, best friend that you never knew you were missing until you are introduced through these books. 5 Stars from me!

My huge thanks to Netgalley, Pan Macmillan and the fabulous Tracy Whitwell for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

I think Helen Phifer has shot to the list of my top 5 authors! She can honestly not write a dud book if she tried! I first met her in all of the Maria Miller books, then the first Annie Graham and now a stand alone.

The Vanishing bookstore is so much more than the title suggests. A dual timeline-ish story set between London and Salem and over many centuries. It involves a cursed family who are doomed to recreate their lives and deaths over and over again throughout the years. The title was slightly misleading as the bookshop didn't get a lot of page space and I thought it would centre more in the story.

I loved the characters and thought recurring characters instead of more and more names to remember was clever. I thought the banter was fantastic and the animals characters stole the show. Who wouldn't want sassy witches who could drink you under the table for aunts?

The Narrator was top notch and had beautiful tones to listen to. The individual characters could all be picked out distinctively and the accents were great.

This would be a great read if you have interest in the Salem witch trials or if you love witches, the paranormal or historical fiction. Bonus if you love all of the above! 4.5 stars from me!

My thanks to Netgalley, Bookouture and Helen Phifer for putting another excellent ARC in my hands. All opinions are my own.

This is my first read of Lia Huni's work and I thought it was great! A small village community and not with just sugar sweet personalities either. The village grapevine works well, the shared town history and the reputations that people can't seem to shake. In comes the newcomer who manages to put a few people offside just by existing as some people are very reluctant for change to happen.

It was a glimpse into just how some school systems and small communities work while based around a blossoming romance. This is the first of a series that I would be keen to continue. Thanks to Lia Huni and IPH Media for allowing me a copy to read.
