i already guessed the ending. i don’t care both sides of killed ppl. the prince is so cold i can’t. even if there is two of him the monster lost control and killed ppl. the human one killed a guy just cause. the romance s not even developing. just bec you knew someone from a young and get reunited doesn’t mean you know them now.
The Vampire King Awakens by X. Aratare
this was interesting but also very slow. it felt i lived those forty eight hours. there was some world building with the politics and hierarchies. slowness helped with character building which is great. however i can see if this is how slow it moves how boring it can get after a while.
i like christian bec of how he resists balthazar. julian seem down for whatever daemon is offering which isn’t as fun tbh.
i’ll give the next book a go. hopefully it moves faster.

i find the main character to be tstl. everyone is telling him he has power that will help him and he sits around mops. he doesn’t even try to shed his skin. the romance is not good. they see each other then hook up. we don’t see them interact enough for it to be anything but instalust turned instalove. i jumped to the end to spoil some stuff for myself and there seems to be an amnesia plot. i don’t think i enjoy this book enough to with stand that(i don’t like amnesia plots).
How to Belong with a Billionaire by Alexis Hall
when i read the first i really just expected smut and some relationship stuff but what a journey.
for most of this i really wanted arden to move on. i understand that caspians trauma but my god arden has been through it with him. i chalked it up to arden being young. i don’t think so anymore. i think he just likes seeing the good in ppl.
there a couple things i would’ve like to see ie navigating their relationship, the abuser getting what deserved and the mending if the siblings relationship.
i know enjoyed this bec i couldn’t find the audiobook on libby so i read it with eyes. that is good sign when i can switch.

How to Blow It with a Billionaire by Alexis Hall
as someone who is not into bdsm, all ask is for authors to convince me the characters are into it. arden is v much into it. i think that part was done well.
this was an interesting read. we finally got some answers from caspian as to why he is the way he is. the man needs therapy with a good therapist. arden is a mess as most twenty one year olds tend to be. he very sweet and i want better for him. caspian is not a good choice imo.
i’ll have to see how the author convinces me otherwise with the next book.

The High King's Golden Tongue by Megan Derr
this was an enjoyable read with characters i like. my only complaint is that they fell in love after one pleasant conversation. the first couple the king being an a hole. i understand the spent time off page but i think we should’ve seen it. we needed to see them get along for a bit.
Real Vampires Take No Prisoners by Amy Fecteau
matheu went from being physically unscarred history scholar to a vampire lord of a whole city with more scars than the seventeen hundred vampire. he had no breathing room! like at all! my goodness i’ve never wanted an extra three chapters relaxation for character in an urban fantasy book.
anyway it was as good as the other two. i still think we needed more quin and mat time in the beginning. their love needed more developing imo.
as i said before fun cast and entertaining story.
i forgot to add the covers are hedious in this series but this by far is worst. this the definition of don’t judge a book by its cover.

Real Vampires Do It in the Dark by Amy Fecteau
what a freaking rollercoaster!
this second book went in directions i didn’t expect. i mean nothing went well. matheu is definitely having the worst experience as mc vampire i’ve ever read.
we needed more quin and matheu. for the tragedy of being apart to hit home we needed more of the relationship development. don’t get me wrong i like them together i just needed more. especially since we really don’t know much about quin. we never saw him be a full badass old vampire that much. it’s just lore at this point.
alistair is such a great character that i wanted him to be the one. i can see why they don’t work but quin is so vague it was refreshing to have someone actually say what they think.
the whole cast of characters have been a fun and funny addition! even when we left the quin and matheu of it all it was fun. seeing matheu get a found family has been great.
all in all i enjoyed it despite the need for editing and problematic language of the twenty tens.

Real Vampires Don't Sparkle by Amy Fecteau
this needed more edited but other than that was v entertaining and funny. i enjoyed the whole cast of characters. matheus’ reaction to being turned is v realistic. i would absolutely bitch and moan about being turned against my will.
it was repetitive though. nothing and i mean nothing went well. made me question how scary and knowledgeable quin really is. he seems kind of useless. wish we saw more of him being ruthless instead needing to being saved all the time.
the language used by characters was riddles tens early twenty tens speech with misogyny ableism whatnot. it was as bad as other things ive read before(some that have been recently published!). however it is there.
