Did not finish book. Stopped at 37%.
The characters personalities are incredibly inconsistent, they all feel very bland and the plot is a good idea but poorly executed.
I really wanted to like this book and it could've been good but it isn't

A fun read though it do drags a little at times. The characters are interesting and their problems are equally so but Louis is personally a little bit of a whiner.

Very funny and an interesting take on Norse mythology. A very fun read and a book I had a hard time putting down

This book felt like a mixed bag to me. The start felt very "tell don't show" which I'm not the biggest fan of. Still, despite the fact that made me sceptical of the rest of the book, I wanted to give it a fair shot.

Halfway through I started to enjoy it much more. The book finally felt like it had a plot rather than "Cardan hates Jude and bullies her just... because?".

It's an enjoyable read but you have to bear with it to get to the good bits. I'm curious what the second book will be like once I get around to it.

What can I say but wow.

I just finished this book moments ago and I already miss it. This was truly everything I wish game of thrones had been.

The world building is vast and interesting, the magic system is unique, the women aren't snivelling damsels in distress but strong, capable warriors in their own right.

I admit I struggled to get into it at first but I'm so very glad I stuck with it. While I won't lie, the world building can be a little overwhelming, once you get into it, it's absolutely worth the (daunting) read.

I hope Samantha one day writes more about this world because I would love to see more of it.
