Didn't want to finish. Well researched book and interesting in parts, but just not for me overall.

Maybe better suited for a different age or another time of life for me. Definitely had some interesting points, but the decisions I make day to day aren’t ones that need to much deliberation. It was also needlessly repetitive and too long, felt like filler.
Maybe I missed it after I started skimming 80% of the way through, but there wasn’t any practical advice on how to calculate the odds of anything. A lot the advice boils down to writing a pros and cons list and knowing things can go haywire.

I took this book in as an audiobook, which was narrated by the author. I think that this added a lot to the content as Annie Duke is an engaging speaker, and she highlighted the text with humor and focus where she felt appropriate. The content is excellent, one of the best books on living life that I have read in many years. Poker is life...life is poker. Duke goes through many examples of when approaching decisions the way poker players approach a hand can dramatically improve "outcomes". She lists best practices for focusing on what is important in life and for dealing with the inevitable challenges. I felt that there were many links to the Stoic school of thought, which made the book even more interesting for me. Highly recommended for everyone, especially if you enjoy a hand of hold 'em every once in a while.

Buy the cliff notes. This book started and ended well, but lost its way in the middle. The discussion of thinking errors and how to overcome them is very interesting but I found the poker reference tiresome by the end of the book. Overall, I enjoyed the read but wishing it was at least 50 pages shorter.
