Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts by Annie Duke

5.0

I took this book in as an audiobook, which was narrated by the author. I think that this added a lot to the content as Annie Duke is an engaging speaker, and she highlighted the text with humor and focus where she felt appropriate. The content is excellent, one of the best books on living life that I have read in many years. Poker is life...life is poker. Duke goes through many examples of when approaching decisions the way poker players approach a hand can dramatically improve "outcomes". She lists best practices for focusing on what is important in life and for dealing with the inevitable challenges. I felt that there were many links to the Stoic school of thought, which made the book even more interesting for me. Highly recommended for everyone, especially if you enjoy a hand of hold 'em every once in a while.
