Part-memoir, part-travel log, part-animal and environmental activism, and entirely wholesome.

I loved everything about this book, and I hope Dean and Nala continue with their journey across the world. I look forward to reading all about it one day!

Truly the most heartwarming book I have ever read. I pretty much cried all the way through. An incredible story.

Dean did a great job telling his story with Nala. Sometimes I felt as if I were right there with them. I wonder though, if maybe the story was written too soon seeing as they have much more traveling to do and have not even made it halfway around the world yet. I will definitely be following their travels through social media from now on. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good nonfiction read. Book 17 in 2020

Dean Nicholson set out on a biking trip with a friend, with the goal to bike around the world. After the friend turned back, Dean continued on and when he was between Montenegro and Bosnia he heard a small meow from the side of the road. The rest, as they say, is history - he nursed her back to health, named her Nala, and continued to care for her while also travelling Europe on bike. They continue to travel together, with their activities being documented on Dean's Instagram page.

This is a 5 star for me because I have been following Dean and Nala for a couple years. I loved this book so much because it not only gave me more insight to their backstory, but also the things Dean did and the people he met before meeting Nala. Their connection is powerful and they are certainly soulmates.

I stumbled upon Dean when he first found Nala. I've watched her and their bond grow over time. I love them and I loved this book. While I already knew the story of Dean and Nala because it went viral, I enjoyed the pictures in the book and the behind-the-scenes stories of events that Dean didn't share to have them as a unique surprise in the book. In the end, I was left touched by his compassion and inspired by his journey. If you love feel-good stories, cats, and animals in general, give this book a read! Follow Dean and Nala on their socials as well. He continues doing so much for needy animals with Nala constantly by his side.

What a read!! Not read non-fiction for a while but this was fascinating. Truly demonstrates the role animals play in our lives and was fascinating reading about difficulties at beginning of the pandemic.

A great story of resilience, the trials and triumphs of travelling around the world by bike with a cat, helping others, a friendship between a man and his beloved cat Nala (where both help the other to continue). Even though at the moment their travels are on hold due to coronavirus (as it says towards the end of this book) they have each to be with which is very sweet. It is just the story you need in these difficult times!
