More info on the PsyNet
This follow up to the first Psy-Changeling novel follows a new character with a previously unmentioned designation. Faith is an F-Psy with the gift of foresight. I didn't like it quite as much as the 1st book but it was still good. And I really enjoy learning more about the PsyNet and the history of the Psy that the council hides from its own people. I'll definitely keep reading this series.

This is a great follow up to book 1, however I had a harder time following along with the heroine's powers in this one. In the first book the powers were based on emotions and that was really easy for me to understand, this was based on future visions and I had more difficulty following along with what was happening. They author did a great job at creating this world and explaining what was happening without over explaining. Beautiful love story. Great suspense and intrigue.

This is the second book in the Psy-Changeling series and it follows Faith and Vaughn.
Faith is the best F-Psy i.e. of the foreseers. Her visions bring in millions to her family, the NightStar clan, and the clients that pay her. These businesses pay her to foresee how well their businesses will thrive. She has been working since she was three years and almost never leaves her home. Sometimes she is so lost in her visions of the future that she even forgets to eat or drink.
Vaughn is the jaguar and the sentinel of the DarkRiver pack. When he was a kid, he had to stay in his animal form for a long time in order to survive and for that reason he feels more comfortable being a jaguar.
When Vaughn meets Faith, he realises that Faith is important to him and that Faith cannot be as cold and distant as normal Psy. He needs to connect with her, but her isolated life prevents him from earning her love.
This was a good read but not as good as the first one. What I didn’t really like was that Vaughn didn’t understand boundaries! Faith kept telling him that constant touch would overload her senses and she would faint, but he still did it. EVERY TIME.
She’s an F-Psy that’s been more isolated than normal Psy because she’s worth millions. So adapting to Changeling habits such as constant touch was too much for her to handle.
This was still a solid read though. The murder mystery that these stories have, took a backseat in this book and the romance overshadowed everything else. Descent pacing, great read. What intrigued me the most was the Psy council, the plot thickens with this group of powerful Psy that dominates most of the world. Can’t wait to see what they do next.

I didn't like this one as well, but it wasn't bad. I will continue to read the series, but I felt there wasn't much background on what makes Vaughn so moody. It came very late in the story and just wasn't a believable back story.

when a series has a different couple each book for variety in romance but also an interesting overarching plot that every character contributes to in their own way slayyyyy

The danger inherent in the Psy world of Nalini Singh gets bigger and more scary in this 2nd installment of the Psy/Changeling series. We learn more subtle differences in the Psy and Changelings as they learn more about the mysterious danger that involves them all and try to learn to live differently for love. I look forward to more adventure in the series.

With book one down I couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book in the Psy-Changeling series... Only to have my local Chapters not have it in!!!!
It's ok, I used the internet (WOOT!) to order it and have it to my door step within the week.
I will point out that this series has a lot of info to follow so if you are planning on reading the books out of order I wouldn't. I read book 10 of the series before going back and there was some people that I had no idea who or why their were there.
So book two, Visions of Heat!
Faith NightStar is a F-Class Psy, what does this mean? She can see the future. Cool right, not so much when her visions become that of blood and murder. Not only has her vision gone to a dark place but also an exquisite pleasure with a man that should stay out of her house and mind.
Vaughn D'Angelo a man with more animal instinct then he should. runs into lovely Faith on one of this runs. At for sight this animal side can't get enough of her.
With Faith wanting to reach passed her conditioning to see what a world full of colors really looks like can she take the last steps outside her door?
I really like the plot for this story, it opens up a lot of doorways for the series. As for the couple, I loved them.
Over all, the plot keeps getting better and better.

Visions of Heat is book two in the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh. I adore this series, the characters, the plot, and world.
Visions of Heat is a re-read for me. I loved it the first time around and just as much the second. This series is so much fun to re-visit. In Visions of Heat get to learn what makes Faith and Vaughn tick and we get to see the changes they both go through, throughout the story.
Faith is an F-Psy. She is valued by her community and also a rarity among her people. I very much enjoyed watching her character growth, the changes she goes through, and how she becomes stronger then what she thought she was. The Psy seem to have this quiet strength among them.
Vaughn is more wild and possessive; because of his past. It makes him a very intriguing Alpha male to read about. I very much enjoyed his character growth and his all or nothing attitude.
As always Ms. Singh’s writing is superb and impressive. Each time I pick up one of her books I am sucked into the world and taken on a magnificent adventure. I very much enjoyed watching Faith and Vaughn come together and grow, as well as the mystery on who is killing people that they work to solve.
Rated: 5 Stars
Audio Oct. 2017: I enjoyed the audiobook for Visions of Heat. My only complaint/issue is with the male voices. It didn't deter from how impressive and unique they are, but it's hard to get use to the male voices. They just don't sound male enough at times. The plot was just as entraining and gripping. I found myself pulled in and enjoying this story and the romance all over again. I recommend the audio for the Psy-Changeling series.
