This book is not written well. It is in desperate need of a really good editor. Also, The personalities of all these characters are so unlike anyone I have ever met in the real world. The strange thing is though, that I could not put it down. It was entertaining.

Unique premise, but a little far-fetched for my taste. And I am really sick of the overprotective stranger-boyfriend-hot-guy trope. In this book there are 7 of them!!

I read it after realizing one of the previous books I had read was based on this. This one moved a lot slower and was surprisingly shorter. Nothing of significance happened. The title should've been dead give away that this book was merely introducing the characters. The writing is a little awkward, as if it was translated from another language. But since its set in America, I can't imagine it wasn't written in English. I am intrigued enough to possibly read the second book.

The CHOKEHOLD this series had me in and for what? It's awful.
I mean, it's awful in the sense that I couldn't stop reading.
There are literally so many things wrong with this. The writing is questionable at best and horrible at worst. The characters are corny and cheesy and unrealistic.
So why did I reread this so many times? And why don't I hate it now?
C.L. Stone is a magician of the strangest kind.

"How naive can I be"....... Well Sang let me tell you!
I actually enjoyed every male character that Sang was introduced to this entire book, but Sang (the main character), was a tough pill to shallow. She is just extremely naive.
Took the entire book to finally get mention of the Academy, but I did really enjoy this book overall, just the main character was a bit much at times.
Can`t wait for more on the Academy

I hate to write a bad review, but this was awful. Straight up the worst book I have read so far this year. The synopsis on the back of the book I feel is very misleading. The book focuses on Sang, the new girl in town. Sang lives in an abusive household and is on her way from running away from home when she runs into Kota. From there, she meets all of Kota’s friends and teachers and is introduced to the mysterious Academy. That’s all there is to the book. It is literally her being introduced to other characters. All of the characters are boys or men. All of them are ridiculously good looking and all are deeply enchanted by her when she really has no personality to speak of. This seems to be written by a horny teenager that doesn’t seem to know how people interact with each other. The characters are bland. All of the boys and men are obsessed with Sang for who knows what reason and the book ends with the introduction to the Academy. The Academy is probably the most interesting thing that the book would have to offer, but it’s cut off to go into book two, which I won’t be reading. This had potential, but it was a total dumpster fire.

I feel like if I started this when it first came out than maybe I would've liked it. Why? Because I would've been younger and my standards lower.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS BOOK. LIKE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK. Why it was published, THE ENTIRE ASS PLOT, the extremely high Goodreads ratings???????????
Not a SINGLE PART of this book makes sense. I knew about 10% in that this was NOT going to be my thing. It was so short though, and I hate DNFing books once I've started, so I trekked onward. Y'all, I can't even say I'm disappointed. Did I "enjoy" this book? No. Not at all. But it was such an EXPERIENCE to read.
There are seven...love interests?...in this novel. Why so many men? Why waste time introduce many men when few men do trick?

Seriously.... this is a legitimate question I'm asking here...is this, like, a kink that I'm not getting or something? This is the only explanation that makes sense to me. Because these dudes had the personality of sliced bread...that accidentally got dropped in a puddle. I genuinely do not know the majority of these men's names. One is Gabriel and he likes instruments and hair shampoo. One is named Kota, there's a Nathan, a Luke I think?....that's all I got. I finished this story TEN MINUTES AGO, people. THEY ALL HAD THE SAME PERSONALITY. AND BY LAW OF AVERAGES SHOULDN'T ONE OF THEM BE UGLY???????????? OR AT LEAST A 5/10???????
And if THAT wasn't enough....Sang starts lusting after the teacher(? I think he's a teacher but also he has a fucking doctorate.) And this man is creepy as FUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCK:
"Dr. Green turned to me at the door. He reached out, surprising me, and touched the collar of my shirt. He buttoned it up to the top and then smoothed down the fabric of the collar..."If you wear a short skirt, you should keep your top modest. As a lady, it will make you look more elegant".

At least, that would be my reaction. Sang blushes and is in awe of this man. GIRL RUN.
(The guys make comments similar to this but not *quite* as egregious, if only for the reason that it doesn't seem kinda...statutory...throughout the book. Again, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS BOOK.)
Will I continue this series? Hells no. Will I say that maybe someone will enjoy it? Well apparently, people do. This has a 4.10 avg rating on Goodreads right now. In contrast, the Great Gatsby currently has a 3.93 average rating. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN. I guess.
Additional notes of my WTF-Reading-Experience:
1. Sang at one point starts kinda lusting over one of the Boys'™ belly hair at one point, which was one of the most hilarious things I have ever read in my life. OF ALL THE THINGS GIRL.
There was a line of coarse hair starting from his jeans, making a thin line to almost where his belly button was.
2. For some reason, we are told that Sang's father has high cheekbones. Do we care?
