I really liked this novella and it was interesting to learn how Dragon and anastasia met and fell it love. It was really sweet!! Another great story from the amazing P.C. Cast and her daughter Kristin :) I absolutely LOVE the HoN series so any book about any of the characters is interesting. Looking forward to the Nyx one they should be doing soon :D will be goooood!!

Dragon was a great character in the novels and in Awakened he kind of lost it a little bit and i think that this novella was a great insight into Dragon's Past.

This was a nice short read and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the HoN series!! :)
Out of ten I'm giving it 7/10 :)3.5/4 stars!

Höpreindruck

2 CDs = 158 Minuten.

A nice little novella to break up the main series!

I will definitely pick up the rest of these, it's nice to get a completely different perspective and some background on the side characters for once! I wish there had been one of these written about the Twins!

Also goddess love her, but damn it was nice not to read about Zoey AT ALL!

Really makes me look forward to what Dragon will do in the rest of the books to come!

With this novella we get to see Dragon's past and how he came to be a vampyre ans sword master. He was too arrogant and cocky for me, i ended up not liking him in the books and this book didn't make me like him either. It was nice to see how his relationship with Anastasia came about but that's it.

I haven't read a house of night novel in probably 4 years so I wasn't sure if I would be able to read this book and remember things. Truth is, you don't need to. This reads like a stand alone. It's a fast enjoyable read.

A very interesting novella. Certainly gives you more insight into why Dragon does some of the things he does in 'Destined'

I liked this novella but I wanted to read more details about Dragon and Anastasia's encounters in school. I felt that it was very brief and was about two events in their story only

Better than the last few House of Night, but still left me wanting more.

I was not a fan of the House of Night series; the main characters being the reason. While the concept of the vampires is unique, interesting, and one that I have never read before, the characters of the main series were annoying. Dragon and Anastasia's characters were much more enjoyable to read or, in the case of audio format, listen to.

Dragon and Anastasia's backstory takes place in the 1800's and both characters weren't whiny and annoying (*cough* Zoey *cough*). I wish it were possible to read this story as a stand alone and that it was longer. Unfortunately, you have to know the House of Night series to properly follow this along, as it does not fill in any gaps and goes off of the basis that you have the knowledge of the series.

Before I give my review, I'd like to clarify that a 4 star rating from me is very good. Books that I love get a 4, 5 being reserved for the books that have impacted me in a very strong way.

I wasn't sure what to expect from a House of Night book that wasn't about the main cast of the series. I was pleasantly surprised. Oftentimes, books that take a supporting character and make them a main character are dull and awkwardly develop the supporting character in ways that don't seem to fit within the context of the original series. Dragon's Oath develops the characters of Anastasia and Dragon beautifully while remaining true to their characters as seen in the main series.

P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast take their minor characters and breathe more dynamic and complex life into them within the text of Dragon's Oath, bringing a further understanding and new perspective to the main series. Readers will not be able to look at Dragon and Anastasia the same after reading this book - they will be far more complex and real than they were before.

I would not recommend reading this book without having read at least part of the HoN series. Reading it too soon will spoil parts of the original series and make understanding this book more difficult, as it relies upon an already present understanding of the vampyre universe presented within the HoN novels.
