So weird. Very violent and odd. I liked the idea and the premise was really interesting.

There's a lot of grist here for the lapsed Catholic to grind. Just about every conceit of the Church is taken to bits. As a nonreligious person, this story doesn't affect me much. I don't find it particularly shocking but I understand there is a lot of potential for such things here. This is getting my two-star "it's OK" in the truest sense.

A series that I can only describe as being not for the faint of heart, seriously. It looks, reads, and feels bigger than it is, and it's already big. Not for the good Christian. Seriously, the amount of blasphemy and irreverence is quite frankly overwhelming. And still, a great series. Uplifting in its story about identity.

A great exploration of religion and every day life. Plus, there's an Irish vampire. Alright.

I got interested in this from watching the tv series. There are some major differences (one is that Tulip is way cooler on the tv show) but the basic story tracks. Reminds me in some ways of Philip Pullman's Golden Compass trilogy - god is no hero and has gone missing. A good read and a good companion to the tv show.

I don’t think this wasn’t good but it just really was not my bag.

Pornographic levels of violence, bigotry and well, pornography, but the start of an interesting tale. Ennis is going for shock value, (and frequently achieves it,) but his characters can be likable. (Cassidy in particular is a favorite.) Enough up-votes to warrant Vol. 2.
