Blood of My Monster by Rina Kent

My first Rina Kent book and I'm obsessed. Love this start to the Monster Trilogy and I now understand the hype. Kirill and Sasha have my heart. I love the back and forth between these two, the banter is gold, and the chemistry is sizzling. Kirill is amazing anti-hero and Sasha's courage, and vulnerability makes me want to hug her. RK did an amazing job on executing the Mulan dark mafia trope.  I adore the secondary characters, and I was especially intrigued by Rai Sokolov and Adrian Volkov makes me want to read RK's earlier mafia series.  That ending was such a cliffhanger but it makes me excited to go back to this world and read the rest of the book in the series.

Giving this book 1 star. I don't know what JQ was on when she wrote this book. Daphne was so selfish and manipulative pushing Simon to marry her to save her reputation when she was the one who wanted to seduce him even when she knew what the consequences were and when Simon had been very clear he didn't want to marry and have a family. And that r*pe scene. Unbelievable. I don't even know why anyone would like this book. Then in the end it was Simon that needed to apologize when Daphne should have been groveling for Simon's forgiveness for what she did. I am so annoyed with this book.

Piper is so funny! This book made me laugh and cry. And Brandon is book boyfriend material. I swear I didn't know crab king fisherman can be this hot. Amazing chemistry and I just love how in love Brendan is with Piper and would do anything for her. I have high hopes on Hannah and Fox's story after that epilogue.

Giving this one 3 Stars just because I love Phoebe and her friendship with Ron plus the secondary characters. But Dan Calebow is an A grade misogynistic a**hole and the scenes with his ex-wife was gross. Phoebe deserve someone better.

I'm new to reading dark romance and Hooked is just my second read for the year. This is a more mellow and mild dark romance compared to lets say The Ritual by Shantel Tessier. I like this one better. I like how Wendy acknowledged Hook's gray character and has even admitted to herself that their relationship is toxic. Hook deserves the happy ending especially after the abuse he suffered from his uncle. The story is fast paced and is never boring. Great start and I am excited to read the rest of the books in the series.

Graeme Montgomery has got to be one of my favorite historical romance heroes. I felt sympathetic to Eveline that she had to use her disability to escape a possible engagement to a horrible man just because her father dismiss her fears of him and in the process being labeled as daft by her clan. Seeing how Graeme's love for Eveline overcoming his hatred of her family and the scorn of his clan was wonderful to witness. Definitely one of my favorite historical romances.

I love the concept and the plot but I think the execution was lacking especially with Kenny. His sudden realization of his love for Emma was a bit unbelievable.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 32%.
DNF at 32%. I was totally not connecting with the MMC and the FMC and I was more interested in reading about Stefan and Brenna than Jennifer and Royce.

One of my favorite Lisa Kleypas books. There's just something about the second chance and revenge romance tropes that gets to me. McKenna is still one of my favorite LK heroes. His love for Aline is just beautiful. I also enjoyed the secondary romance between Livia and Gideon Shaw.

Cute and quirky. Logan and Jeanie can be frustrating at times. Light-hearted and funny. Looking forward to Noah and Hazel's book and Annie and Mac's.
