The House of Incest by Anaïs Nin
4.0
I gave it four stars instead of five, only because I didn't see the connections between the story's characters and her real life associates, as the foreward claimed there was. But outside of that, the book was lovely and could easily command five stars.
How about I give it 4.9 stars? :-)

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
5.0
From my own struggles with depression, I recognize the accuracy of how Plath described Esther's breakdown. It's an excellent novel (based on the facts of Plath's own breakdown in 1953) of the isolation and despair one feels in the midst of such a crisis.
Giving Up: The Last Days of Sylvia Plath by Jillian Becker
The book gives an interesting view of Sylvia Plath's last days. The author was a friend of hers. The author had an axe to grind with Plath's husband for how he cheated on Sylvia and for his antisemitism, which gave the last few chapters a bitter flavor.
Living History by Hillary Rodham Clinton

I am learning a lot about how to keep my sense of self, whom to trust with my thoughts, and how to conduct myself in a hostile political climate by reading this book. I particularly appreciate how she shared her feelings and thought processes about these things, including her experience with the Lewinsky scandal. I have always admired Senator Clinton, and now my respect for her has grown.
