The unimaginable tragedy of the most boring man, falling in love with a woman he met 4 days ago, finding out she doesn't love him back.

Beautifully written though.

The important thing here isn't whether you are being loved, it's how you will accept the love that comes your way.

I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki
is an interesting book (with a 10/10 title). It consists of recordings of therapy sessions, which in itself is intriguing. However, for a book that labels itself as 'self-help', the advice of the therapist is, at best, generic and, at worst, harmful. Still, it can shed light on destructive thoughts most people have but are often afraid to admit. While definitely not a guidebook, it can be a great start to self-exploration.

Being imperfect is all right and being awkward is okay. You don't have to cheer up. I can do well today, or not. It'll be an experience either way. And that's fine.

The Brain contains many interesting examples into the brain's workings (including a neuroimaging take on the "trolley problem"). It's easy to understand and provides a broad overview of the topic. Highly recommend!

Never’ has come to stay. ‘Never’ feels so unfairly punitive. For the rest of my life, I will live with my hands outstretched for things that are no longer here.

Beautifully written and so tragically realistic.

Did we really dismantle the world built over the past five books for... this?

Beyond the disaster of the deus ex machina worldbuilding (because why create reasonable conflict when you can just change the well-established principles of the magic system on a whim), the plot was scattered due to the constant back-and-forth POV switching.

On that note, Nina's POV was entirely redundant and made the story DRAG. SO. MUCH. The other characters were bland, like shadows of themselves.

Overall, a boring read. Had high expectations, was severely disappointed.
