As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
1.0
I thought it was going to be a self help book but it just seemed like a Christian book that had cult tendencies since there was a real strange noise in the background on the audio book I listened to. So glad it was only an hour long because that book was just non-stop running sentences. Most of the ideas in the book were rather stupid too.
The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Some interesting and insightful ideas but mostly I was bored and struggled with the repetitive structure of the book.
Life and Death And Other Legends and Stories by Jeremiah Curtin, Henryk Sienkiewicz

A decent short read.
Persuasion by Jane Austen

I had read Pride and Prejudice a few times but that’s all I’ve read of Jane Austen until now. Found an audio book version of Persuasion on Spotify so figured I’d give it a listen. It’s definitely not Pride and Prejudice but it is quite mature for her (it was one of her last books after all), I think I need to watch some film adaptations to better understand the story though. I did rather struggle to comprehend what was going on but I’m unsure if that was just me or if the book is confusing to other people too. Think I’ll definitely give Pride and Prejudice a re-read this year though.
Flappers and Philosophers by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I would of finished this book way quicker had I not gone between audiobook, physical book, audio book and then back to physical book again. Also, I was kind of re-reading half the book because some of the short stories were also featured in ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Six Other Stories’ which I read last year. Aside from that, I found the book an enjoyable and easy read.
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
4.0
A little long winded and a lot of dialogue but there’s some really cool quotes and Dorian Gray as a whole is rather intriguing. I think I’ll watch a synopsis video or film adaptation to better understand the story because some things I don’t quite understand or I zoned out in since it was on audiobook. Also, the person reading for the audiobook I listened to sounded like Dumbledore lol
