This book wasn't for me, it's just too disturbing, heartless and evil.

I just can't enjoy reading about such depravity and how much you can destroy another person just for the hell of it.

The writer is very talented though, can't deny that and he does exactly what he intended to do; leaving the reader shocked.

Not for me but if you're into 'extreme' horror, you'll probably like this.

Now excuse me while I scrub myself with bleach and turn vegetarian.

The Martian Chronicles is a history of a settlement on Mars by humans.

The first three expeditions failed, and all of their crews were killed by the native Martians; by the fourth expedition, most all the Martians have succumbed to chickenpox which hitchhiked from Earth.

Despite the actions of a crewmember of this expedition who was sympathetic to Martian culture, a foothold on the planet was established and colonization began.

This colonization was exclusively by the United States of America, as other nations were tied up in international struggles. There were some Martians left on Mars, who interacted with the human settlers.

Twenty years after the Great War on Earth and at the brink of human civilization's final collapse, some humans escaped their home planet to start over in Mars.

This is a very short book at 181 pages, but it's very complex and just goes to show how much of a literary genius Bradbury was.

It was absolutely brilliant and such a pleasure to read.

“It’s starting to feel like an episode of Scooby-Doo.”

Orsk is a furniture superstore in Cleveland very similar to IKEA. But something is very wrong in this particular store.

During the night, things are being broken and moved around and three employees volunteer to stay overnight to investigate and find out what the hell is going on during the night when there's no-one around.

But as they walk the hallways of the store, they begin to realize something far more terrifying is going on...

The whole design of this book is phenomenal, it's just very cleverly put together, it was a pleasure to read and I'm already looking forward to a re-read.

I've never read a bad book by this author! A+

This was an awesome book which was released late last year and I got for my birthday, it's about how aliens have invaded pop culture over the past 100 years.

We see how depictions of aliens have evolved over the years in pulp magazines, comics, TV and in movies.

From eyes on stalks, robot aliens, blob-like B-movie aliens of the 1950s, realistic aliens from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, monstrous aliens from the Alien movies, the friendly alien from E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial and the shape shifting alien from The Thing among many others.

It's filled with interesting information, photographs, artwork and movie posters.

Very enjoyable read, put together so well.

If you're into such things, you should give this one a go!

I've been a fan of westerns since I saw The Good, The Bad and the Ugly when I was a kid; it's always been a genre I've been fascinated by after that.

Never started reading western fiction until a few years back with Blood Meridian, which was absolutely brilliant.

The Magpie Coffin just goes to show that it's a genre which can be expanded upon, and when I saw that cover I was immediately attracted by it - especially the writing at the bottom saying A Splatter Western. I immediately started thinking about the blood spurts of Django Unchained.

This one never let me down and I'm glad I got it, I really enjoyed it.

Salem Covington, the main character here is a outlaw occultist who cannot be killed by an ordinary bullet.

His old teacher, a native shaman called Dead Bear is brutally murdered by a gang of thugs, and he vows vengeance upon them.

With the body of his teacher kept in a coffin behind his wagon, he goes to avenge Dead Bear’s murder.

Very violent.
Very well written, it wasn't bloated in the slightest.
Like some sort of grindhouse western, that I'd love to see adapted.
Top rated.

Now I'm on the lookout for 'splatter westerns'

The Kray twins were notorious London underworld gang leaders during the 60s and this book tells their story from their beginnings in Bethnal Green to their life imprisonment in 1969, largely in their own words and compiled from a series of interviews with Fred Dinenage from behind prison walls.

I really enjoyed this autobiography, it's the best one I've read in a while; it was written well, it was such an easy read, it was interesting to learn more about the Krays and mostly in their own words.

Crazy that they got sentenced 30 years each, like wtf?

Must read for people who enjoy reading about true crime.

SOME STAINS DON'T COME OUT...

Raised in a household so filthy it was stomach-spilling, Vera involuntarily evolved into a neat freak. Upon discovering she and her disabled husband Daniel are expecting, she needs fast cash. Her obsession with cleanliness sprouts the concept that her skills can be put to use in a unique way. She takes a stab at the booming door-to-door vacuum sales business of 1988. All is going well until she arrives at the steps of a house that will change her forever. The steps of an evil that resurrects the ghastly memories she so desperately tried to wash away. Nothing will prepare you for the nastiness, disorder and sickening horror brought forth by... The Slob.

Well this was disturbing to say the least, not much of a plot going on apart from the fact you shouldn't knock on strangers doors; the antagonist here is a despicable, disgusting and evil person.

Don't read this if you're easily offended.

The shock factor here is high.

A must read for splatterpunk fans!

Now let me go throw up..

They get you when you sleep...

Dr. Miles Bennell is confused when a bunch of his patients come to him with the same complaint, their loved ones seem to have been replaced by emotionless impostors.

His former girlfriend Becky and his friend Jack soon discover that the patients suspicions are true and an alien species of human duplicates, grown from plant-like pods is taking over their town.

I've seen all of the adaptations of this book, so basically knew the plot, I guess why that's why I put off reading it for so long but I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to watching the 1978 version again - god that movie is terrifying.

Read, learn, open your eyes and be informed.

By reading this book you'll learn so much about politics, banking, media, religion, society and the world and the events that have been happening throughout history; especially World War 2 and the Nazi war machine through different eyes.

This was my second time reading this book, I recommend reading to anyone who wants to be informed about the true identity and character of that small group of people (BANKERS i.e the 1%) who rule our world and are responsible for the moral and spiritual degradation of Western societies.

You might think it's crazy and far fetched but some of us have woke up to it and too much doesn't add up!

'The greatest trick the Illuminati ever pulled...was to convince the world they didn't exist.'

"..an epidemic gives them the excuse to do exactly they're doing.." - David Icke

Read this...at least once.

I loved this TV Series and was excited to see what this graphic novel was like, it's a prequel which reveals the events that led Vanessa to try and find her missing childhood friend, Mina Harker, and exposes the true nature of the vampires infesting Victorian London.

There's very little dialogue in this.

I read it in like 20 minutes, it's so short and not well thought out.

I've given it two stars because of the illustrations and well..Eva Green.. :P
