The House at Riverton by Kate Morton

This book reminded me somewhat of "Rebecca" or "The Thirteenth Tale." Wealthy people in England, etc. Interesting story and somewhat ironic that the servants seem happier than the people they serve.
The Angels of Morgan Hill by Donna VanLiere

Heartwarming story and a really fast read. I was pleased to find that this book was not quite as sad as I thought it was going to be. I love the ones with happy endings and this is one of them.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows, Mary Ann Shaffer

I loved this book! I had read a few pages and then put it aside thinking that it might not be very interesting. I kept hearing other people commenting about how good it was, so I decided to give it another chance and I am so glad I did.
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford

I liked this book. I have never read anything about how the Japanese Americans were affected during World War 2, so I found this interesting.
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand
5.0
This was an amazing story. Once I started this book, it was very difficult to put it down. Most of the books I have read about World War II were focused on the Holocaust, so I was very interested to read about the struggles the US had with Japan. A very sad story, but also uplifting. Louie Zamperini is a true hero and an inspiration to us all.
Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier

It was a bit difficult to get into at the start, but once I did, I was interested in Will Cooper and the different way of life he led.
Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Ann Jacobs
3.0
I thought this was a very interesting story and love that it was told from the slave's perspective. Harriet had an interesting, yet difficult life.
Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo

This book reminded me of 90 MINUTES IN HEAVEN. I could be skeptical, but I would rather have the blind faith of a child and take it all in. It's a comfort to think that heaven will be like, or at least similar to, the place Colton describes.
