I learned some new things and it gave me an interesting view of her timeline in music. Lots of fun!

I thought the plot was very interesting, however I didn't love the writing style. It was a bit difficult to get used to at first. It kind of leaned on being a bit of a info-dump. BUT the concept is insane, and the aspects of the idea of cannibalism being a future reality really made sense and was extremely disturbing. The end was an absolute twist! I was shocked.

After all, since the world began, we’ve been eating each other. If not symbolically, then we’ve been literally gorging on each other. The Transition has enabled us to be less hypocritical.

This one was cute. I like how each relationship has had its own struggles.

It was like a spicy darker version of Caraval. I think it was interesting and I was surprised at the twist. I think the sex was a bit excessive for me, but it was a fun read.

Life is not measured in good or bad thoughts. It's how you treat the world around you despite them.

Omg what a cliffhanger! Thatcher and Lyra are definitely my favorite tho. Can't wait to keep going.

Quote:

Couples get compared to moths. And flames all the time. Drawn 21 another, magnetic. I bet if they knew the real reason, it wouldn't be as sweet. Not to normal people. Creatures who become entranced by bright lights get eaten by predators or overheat. They are not drawn by love or some deep-rooted appeal; they are pulled in by death.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but it did include better spice scenes than the first. Rook and Sage are mildly annoying. I'm excited for the next book tho.

Quotes I liked:

God doesn't exist here. Just me.

Spirituality, religion. It's all the same with their self-fulfilling prophecies. It's not used for good or to help people, just to control minds, to keep people in line.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one. And I'm getting really tired of the main character and her indecisiveness. Like girl, pick one already. 🙄 but I find myself wanting to know what's gonna happen next?So I guess I'll probably read the second one, especially since these are so short.

I love how dark this book is, and the contrast of
Briar and Alistair's upbringing being what brings them together in a way.
The plot is also quite interesting.

This one was alright. I'm sure I'll read book 5 but I think book 3 was still my favorite.

And he cant stop staring at me, as if I'm some magical dick-sucking unicorn come to life.
