The New Hire by A.W. Scott

If you like touch him he's mine vibes you'll love this. It is immensely steamy and the power Aiden unknowingly holds over Miguel is strong. He is a business mogul, who everyone knows, but he is in a tailspin when he thinks he will never find Aiden after their night together. It's a novella, so love is declared early, but I didn't mind it. Miguel knows what he wants, he's used to making high risk decisions, it would be more out of character if he didn't say it early. This was just the story I needed with an element of grumpy/Sunshine and possessive instant attraction. No beating round the bush, it dives straight in. I loved the secondary characters, Tucker and Taylor, added fun and lightness amongst the intensity. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Where the River Meets the Skye by Felicity Snow

5.0

Skye and River, Skye and River; even their names align. They have such a special connection that they both felt even before they understood. If only life was fair, these two would have the world. River has chronic pain and other health issues that are so consuming. He counts minutes, rather than days, he's in so much pain. Exhausted, weak, but he has Skye. Skye is his strength, his courage and his heart. Once they discover their love for each other, it's beautiful. It's hard to completely comprehend what River has to endure, Skye is so strong, despite feeling helpless. Watching the man he loves go through so much. Their love shines through the darkest days, nothing can break their bond. It is hard to not let the bad days dull the best days. This goes deep, there is more depth to River's suffering from when he was younger. Just when they catch their breath, a stronger wind takes it away. It's frustrating and unfair and you wish you could press the stop button that says, okay, they have had enough; but it's chronic, nothing lets up. It is an emotional read, overwhelming with pain and sorrow for these beautiful men. This is a story of love winning, love giving strength to go on and taking kindness as it comes. The ending shows some hope, and lots of love between each other and their special friends. I like to give awards to supporting actresses, women in books are often portrayed in a bad light. Anna deserves a mention, the ex-girlfriend, who really was a nice kind person. She had dignity and didn't stoop to a scorned woman. She turned out to be a wonderful friend too. A 5 star read, with watery eyes throughout. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Letters 3: Chad's Story by Michael Robert

It's hard to explain Chad, initially I think he's a complex character, but actually he is far from complicated, he is pure and simple; ethereal. He feels deep and from a unique perspective that links in with his ability to feel presence from beyond. There is no doubt he is extra special, but as this story portrays, even special people get hurt when love isn't put first. No one knows that more than Cole. He is sad and lonely and has given up on love. Why would he want to love again for it to cause more pain? To be honest he didn't stand a chance not falling for Chad. These two start off as a casual arrangement, both still not ready to trust love, but love is bigger and will barge through broken hearts. Chad and Cole didn't just mend each other's heart, they created Kintsugi, they made them more beautiful and stronger. This story promised steam and there were lots of hot intimate scenes, with a slight Daddy/boy element in the bedroom. I couldn't get over how much love there was to share, a unique story that shows as long as there is pure love there is no need for fear, no need for jealousy and hate. The epilogue brings us full circle back to Christmas and it is magical and full of so much love.
In His Corner by H.L Day

Absolutely brilliant! I felt all warm and fuzzy with this story, not forgetting the humour I expect from this author. It's a story of second chances and stitching wounds. I love a grumpy character and in this book we get two. Hayden is a hot grumpy chef, who doesn't have time for a private life. However, he is close to his brother, who asks for a huge favour for one of his parolees. Levi, is fresh out of prison, very guarded, almost souless from how much prison has taken from him. All he has is his gramdma. Of course, two men, with each with their own reasons for their hardness, they are either going to repel or attract. They are electric together, the secret office meetings are extra hot. Underneath the hardness, there is always a caramel centre and Hayden's centre was so sweet and caring. Hot dirty talk, everything is just steamy, frantic and amazing; until it isn't. There is some angst throughout, and a blip that jeopardises everything. Levi, has been on his own for so long, he has no concept of how strong love is and Hayden's is strong enough for both of them. I loved this story and I adore both MC's. The epilogue was perfect, a real happy ever after. This is a little gem of a book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Noticing Nate by Shae Michaels

I've read every Pine Ridge book from Shae and this one just feels so settled. I loved the characters, how could you not notice Nate. He is beautiful inside and out. So unsure of himself, people have missed out; but not Elias. The fact Nate's parents tended to forget about him, is borderline ridiculous, but it just adds to the humour that we get with this series. Nate is possibly my favourite of the series, and I'm so glad he and Elias found each other. This story just takes us through the paces of two people getting to know each other and realising feelings are very much involved. I was so glad Derek didn't cause the angst we could feel brewing, hopefully he gets a story soon. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
