In His Corner by H.L Day

4.0

Absolutely brilliant! I felt all warm and fuzzy with this story, not forgetting the humour I expect from this author. It's a story of second chances and stitching wounds. I love a grumpy character and in this book we get two. Hayden is a hot grumpy chef, who doesn't have time for a private life. However, he is close to his brother, who asks for a huge favour for one of his parolees. Levi, is fresh out of prison, very guarded, almost souless from how much prison has taken from him. All he has is his gramdma. Of course, two men, with each with their own reasons for their hardness, they are either going to repel or attract. They are electric together, the secret office meetings are extra hot. Underneath the hardness, there is always a caramel centre and Hayden's centre was so sweet and caring. Hot dirty talk, everything is just steamy, frantic and amazing; until it isn't. There is some angst throughout, and a blip that jeopardises everything. Levi, has been on his own for so long, he has no concept of how strong love is and Hayden's is strong enough for both of them. I loved this story and I adore both MC's. The epilogue was perfect, a real happy ever after. This is a little gem of a book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
