My final thoughts on this book is that it was just utterly pretentious and drab. Despite its few exhale-type comedic moments, I found it to be so very boring. The book was just over 200 pages and yet it dragged and dragged. Definitely not for me.

This was beautifully vapid and captured what it means to be broke and in your twenties. No real plot, just immense vibes with charming imagery and vibrant language (especially in regards to food. Do not read this book on an empty stomach) My one regret in regards to this book was not reading it during summer.

There are some stories that just need to be heard and this is one of them.

The titular story in this book was my favourite by leaps and miles. Whilst it’s format was by no means unique, it’s writing was really exceptional with its vivid and grotesque imagery.

However that’s about where my enjoyment for this book ends. The other two stories, more so the second one, were bland and poorly paced.

That being said, I breezed through this book in maybe 4 hours so I don’t hold any grudges/feel like I’ve wasted time with this book.
