i love rick riordan and i think these books are a great follow up and continuation of the pjo and hoo series without being repetitive, they just don’t compare to the original series though. apollos character is very well written and the idea of a fallen god is very intriguing

Worth the 1100 page read- King is a master at suspense, my heart was pounding reading through some of these scenes. I felt what was going on, the death, the sickness, the gore- so descriptive. The characters building was also amazing, most characters having some bits of good and bad in them. The only qualm I have with this book is the lack of character building in the female characters- I know this was written in the 70’s and times are different now, but honestly I don’t want to read about any gender character that their only personality trait is craving sex.

the plot is addicting, but the dialogue, setting, character development, having realistic characters or relationships is all pretty bad. I had to speed-read through a lot of scenes and dialogue where it was so "cringy" that I could not stomach it. I would recommend if you like high fantasy and don't really care about realistic conversations, setting description, or character development.
Oh, I also have to say that the stakes were very low at this point in the series.
when Rhys died, I wasn't concerned or even shocked at all because I knew that he would just get revived, and guess what? He did. Immediately. Even if it meant that Tamlin had to change his entire personality suddenly so it could happen. And when Amren came back from the dead just so everything could be la-dee-dah at the end I was very annoyed.

listen gotta say i think this series is totally a chick flick read, basically where you can breeze through the book the writing is so simple. that being said, the plot does draw you in, so that is what gives it the 3 stars

i love solangelo don’t get me wrong, but this book felt like grasping at straws- a money grab- by riordan. the plot was not really connected to anything and the main theme of what they were arguing about was not very fleshed out or realistic
