the plot is addicting, but the dialogue, setting, character development, having realistic characters or relationships is all pretty bad. I had to speed-read through a lot of scenes and dialogue where it was so "cringy" that I could not stomach it. I would recommend if you like high fantasy and don't really care about realistic conversations, setting description, or character development.
Oh, I also have to say that the stakes were very low at this point in the series.
when Rhys died, I wasn't concerned or even shocked at all because I knew that he would just get revived, and guess what? He did. Immediately. Even if it meant that Tamlin had to change his entire personality suddenly so it could happen. And when Amren came back from the dead just so everything could be la-dee-dah at the end I was very annoyed.
