Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
I really just couldn't stand the depiction of a teenager from the future displayed in this book.  The main character was always just talking about getting a good selfie and her influence.  The whole wedding and following night felt off and lacked description.  I just felt myself cringing every page and there wasn't a single character that made me want to keep reading.

This was a unique retelling.  The author took away all the magic of the Gods influence and told the story through the eyes of Danae, Medusa, and Andromeda.  It shows the dark side of life that usually comes with mythology but puts the blame on human decisions and consequences instead of Zeus' influence.  It was sad and hopeful at the same time.  I think I went into this expecting the women to be almost over-the-top strong/brave/heroic since it is a retelling that is supposed to shine a light on the women in his life.  While you do get glimpses of this, you see more of their indecision and the consequences that come to them from it.  I think the effect is impactful all the same.

Thank you to Netgalley for letting me reading an early edition of this book.  I really enjoyed my time reading this!  It is dystopian and whimsical at the same time with just a touch of darkness.  One of my favorite things were the inventions and the way the us readers discovered the two worlds.  If you like magical worlds that are a bit more open ended and whimsical then this is a great book to pick up.  I do think this could have been a bit more descriptive, especially with the characters but overall, I think this was a fun little read!
