The Breaking Point by Fallon Greer

This was a good read

I enjoyed the storyline however I didn't feel emotionally connected with the characters which means I didn't love it

I enjoyed the forbidden-ish aspect to it and the tension building before they finally gave into their feelings for each other

- friends to lovers
- foster siblings (from early teens)
- sports romance - pro hockey
- first person / dual pov
- dual timeline

Thank you to Greys Promo for the ARC - all opinions are my own

I initially struggled to get into this book, slow burns aren't my fave and also I got a bit frustrated at both of them for liking each other but not wanting to risk their friendship

However when things started to happen I thought it was really cute and I love how supportive they are of each other

The friendship group in this book/series is so lovely I love all the characters

- friends to lovers
- slow burn
- single dad
- brothers best friend

Thank you to HQ and NetGalley for the ARC - all opinions are my own

- slow burn

Really enjoyed this one!

The last 6/7 chapters were so good and I wasn't sure how it was going to end but I'm glad it ended in a good way

There was lots of drama and I felt like I needed a lie down at the end

This is different from what I usually read but I had a great time with it and loved all the twists and turns

Overall I enjoyed this book and had a good time reading it

I really enjoyed the story and the writing style

However a big thing for me is that I didn't really feel the romance or any connection between the main characters

- co-workers (ish - she starts a new job and he helps train her)
- enemies to lovers (they didn't like each other in high school)
- set around Christmas

Thank you to NetGalley, Afterglow / Mills and Boon for the ARC - all opinions are my own
Best Foot Forward by Adam Hills

I loved this! I love watching Adam present The Last Leg and enjoyed hearing his story of how he got there

The audiobook is such a joy and I highly recommend, with a couple of bonus tidbits and all the different accents and voices it was so good

It took me a little while to like both of the characters but once I got there this was such a fun cute read

- sports romance (pro hockey)
- friends to lovers
- roommates/forced proximity
- they've liked each other for the past 8 years
- she asks him to help her become a 'player' after breaking up with her long term boyfriend
- no 3rd act breakup

I've loved pervious books on this series and I also love these tropes so I knew that I'd really enjoy this book and it didn't disappoint

I got a bit frustrated with the MMC at the start as it seems like he's kinda avoiding the FMC at times and it was adding this layer of conflict/ten ion which the story probably needs but I didn't want

I lovr friends to lovers and how there's an already established relationship and you just get to watch it grow and change in the best way and this book definitely had that, it was super cute

I loved watching the FMCs confidence grow throughout the book and how she went from kinda being stuck in her life to living her best life

Maybe minor spoilers but I loved that they were both willing to give up their dreams for each other, just so the other person could continue living their dream. The whole scene was really cute and wholesome

The epilogue is super cute and the set up for the next book??!! omg I'm so intrigued by it

Thank you to Stephanie and her team for the ARC - all opinions are my own

I really enjoyed this book

- Romeo and Juliet inspired
- small town
- coworkers
- opposites attract

I love both of these characters and how they really seemed to balance each other out and how little drama there was between themselves, the only drama came from external factors but their relationship was so easy and supportive it was a joy to read

I love a book with sneaking around/secret relationship and Kandi does it so well and it's so different every time she writes it

I'm really loving this series / family / small town and can't to read more
