This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune
4.5
This one did a great job showcasing the value of multiple kinds of love in a balanced way. It perfectly blended more serious and lighthearted moments together to weave a wonderful story. It kept the summer comfort feeling of her novels while adding a depth the others did not possess.

The Book Swap by Tessa Bickers
4.5
This story was incredibly cute. Seriously my dream meet-cute scenario. I loved it and it was a lot of fun. Both of the MCs were quite endearing.
ADHD Is Awesome: A Guide to (Mostly) Thriving With ADHD by Penn Holderness, Kim Holderness
4.5
The listening of this one was a lot like listening to a podcast but it is a book. I like the casual conversational vibe between Penn and Kim. It was a nice blend of frank but also upbeat. I felt inspired and uplifted while listening. It was also quite entertaining to hear all the anecdotes.
This would be a helpful read for everyone with ADHD and people who know others with ADHD. It had advice for everyone all about how to have patience and kindness while also not letting ADHD become an excuse. I highly recommend it.

Just Friends by Evie Sterling

I have a bit of mixed feelings about this series still. I was hoping to have more concrete feelings about it after this one but I honestly really don’t. My favorite character in the series by far is Phineas (the antagonist). I still have love-hate feelings about Cassie and Link. I really hope he still has a role in book 3 as he is definitely the reason I plan on continuing to finish this series.
This story is still very set apart from her other works. The writing style is very different from the Evie style I’ve come to know and love. This difference doesn’t quite align with my preferences when I sit down to read something from her. That said, the last quarter of this one is what really sucked me in and I flew right through it.
I almost wanted more from this story. There were a number of times that conversations and scenes were simply summarized after the fact. I would’ve loved to be there to witness them as a reader. I’ll be interested to see how this plays out as the series concludes.
I received this book as part of a Haylingbookstorm PR arc and street team. My review is honest and voluntary

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan
4.0
It was okay but very forgettable. My favorite part by far was that the FMC is a professional organizer
Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
4.25
It really wasn't as scary as I felt like it should be till the very end. It took me a long time to get through but the writing style was good.
Love Sick by Cynthia A. Rodriguez
3.5
This one was, so heavy and wild. The trigger warnings are not to be taken lightly. It took me a long time to get through this one because of how intense it was. I wanted to try something darker for spooky season but this was difficult for me to get through.
I will praise this book for being very uniquely unhinged. The story at the beginning of the book is very different from what it became at the end. I hate to admit, I didn't find either of the main characters to possess any redeeming qualities.
While I wouldn't go so far as to regret reading this one, it also isn't one I would recommend to people with a book taste similar to mine. If you like your romances incredibly dark and unhinged, then maybe this is a better fit for you.
This book is incredibly graphic and does contain spicy content. If you are at all weary of either of those, do not read this book.

Mr. Heartbreaker by Piper Rayne
4.5
Listening to this audiobook absolutely flew by. I looked up and was already halfway through. It was the perfect hockey romance for those that aren’t very interested in the sports half.
I really felt like the side characters are what made this one speical. Particularly the bar owner and Kyleigh’s best friend. They just added a much necessary lighter element to the story.
The production quality of the audiobook was wonderful. The casting choices were wonderful picks. I cannot wait for the next one in the series.
Do keep in mind this book does get sexual quite early on. That said, the scenes are skippable without missing too much plot.
