I liked Shutter and Exposure. Both are easy to follow along with at work and interesting enough to keep me engaged and listening. I wasn't sure why this sequel decided to do the alternating POV between Rita and the serial killer. I felt it didn't really add anything to the narrative and there wasn't a "this all makes sense now" moment. Rita almost felt like a side character. Things were happening around her and I guess we were supposed to be walking with her as she recovered from the events of book one but it feels like everything could've gone exactly as it did without her, unlike the first book. Still, I saw that this is planned to be a trilogy & I'm looking forward to the final book.

Character driven but not a lot of development in my opinion, plot felt lacking and the prose felt like it was trying too hard.

This is the second book I've read by this author, because I needed something I could listen to at work. The writing is easy to follow and it remains suspenseful throughout, but a lot of it felt predictable to me. There were many twists and turns but nothing really shocking. Still, I'm glad I read it, finished it. And I'll probably pick up another one by this author when I need something to help keep me focused.
