Classic children's book with *check's notes* dismemberment and grooming.

I enjoyed it, it's cute and readable, but not a series I'll continue.

Historietas graciosas de Croqueta y Empanadilla como siempre, pero esta vez vienen en la forma de una especie de guía de recomendaciones de qué hacer en Japón

I really liked the way we dip in and out of these people's lives and how it shows the different ways people change and evolve. I feel like some of the stories could have been a little more developed though.

It took a while for me to really get into the story, but once we arrive at Eliza's perspective, I was completely hooked until the very end. As usual, Morton has the ability to make you care about every single one of these characters, even when you don't agree with their decisions at all. Even though I knew it all ended in tragedy, I was still hoping for bright moments for these women. The connection between all of them throughout the years was very touching. Morton is one of my favorite authors for a reason, and I remember it every time I pick up one of her books.

I love that it starts after everything has happened so you see what the effects and the devastation is. It's a smart way to deal with this subject. There's no possibility of victim-blaming when you see exactly what it has done to her.

I enjoyed the writing, and how it's all connected to the tavern and the river. I also loved the way it is a story about telling stories. However, the plot didn't grab me, there were too many characters introduced for a very long time, and the story itself lost me at some point. In general, I liked the Armstrongs' and Rita's storylines. However, there were two things I really disliked about them:
- The fact that Robin was evil from birth because his birth father was also evil
- Rita just shrugging and getting over her fear of birth just cause
In general, I wouldn't recommend it because what I liked the most were the style and tone.

Mixed bag. I didn't like the first few essays but it got better afterwards.

It took me ages to finish it because it was so boring! The romance is not really developed, it's just a series of scenes where they make out and have sex. The secondary characters are so underdeveloped I had trouble telling them apart.

It's okay, it has some fun moments, but in general I couldn't connect with the characters or the humor all that much.
