Enjoyable enough but the last 25 percent was a mess. I was also confused as to how a family with members like Amina and Sufi (who is married to Majid) was described as Hindus who want their ashes immersed in the Ganges.

3.5. All the stars for the theme and suchlike but the last few chapters...oof. Glad I read it though.

3.5 stars. I loved the premise of this book and enjoyed a lot about it, though the second half was a bit draggy.

Strictly a timepass read for me.

2.5 stars, I guess? Too long, too repetitive, too many attempts to sound "lyrical" and "poetic". Great premise but became a drag to finish.
