Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score

tiktok girls are imbeciles. this is the worst shit i’ve ever read in my life, it makes anna todd look like shakespeare. lucy score seems to be in her mid-30s yet she writes worse than the average 13 year old wattpad user. the fact that this has an average score of 4 stars is so depressing, tiktok must pay for its crimes against humanity.
plainly stupid writing. a violently misogynistic, rude, intolerant and condescending love interest who forces himself into the mfc’s life over and over just to make it worse. a moronic, braindead airhead stereotype of an mfc who couldn’t figure out how to breathe without a man begrudgingly teaching her while simultaneously sexually harassing her. empty characters who serve no purpose, have no personality, no chemistry, and not an ounce of likability to their name.
there are tons of beautifully-written romance novels with the grumpy/sunshine trope. this is by far the worst thing that employs said trope and i’m so happy i didn’t waste my hard-earned money on buying the series because i trusted booktok, which absolutely will never happen again. y’all keep proving you’re tasteless and couldn’t point to a good book if it smacked you across the face.
