Tell Me You Want Me by Willow Winters
3.0
Coming into the story, Suzette seems like a promising fmc being a strong, stubborn and confident woman about to put the CEO in his place.
Then by Chapter 3 she completely changed. She gets railed once on the boss’s desk and becomes this insecure, weak, sorry-saying shell of who she was in chapter 1 which continues for the rest of the story, which was rather disappointing.
Definitely an easy read, spice was alright, storyline wasn’t as strong as it could have been, but for a book under 300 pages it got right to the point.
3 stars because I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. It was average for me.

Beautiful, magnificent, splendid
Cole’s storyline unfolded how I hoped it would. It was set up nicely from the previous books and I’m excited to see how it continues to unfold.
After the losses during the war (I will never forgive you, Brenda), the ending brought me shivers and goosebumps

I really wanted to give 1 star because this is about Taryn’s ‘woe is me’ bs and I disliked the entire thing (genuinely because it is in Taryn’s POV and it’s a shitty sob story- I mean ‘her side’ of what happened [insert eyeroll here]) but it’s getting 5 stars because although it’s in Taryn’s POV and she’s just being whiney and sobby the whole time, I can’t look past Holly Black’s ability to enrage me and have me rolling my eyes 2000+ times within 50 pages

I have to be honest. The first half of the book is very slow. It doesn’t start to get interesting until about Chapter 12/13 (for me at least). I can understand that the background stories are important for the bigger plot, but it felt very long getting into the more juicer plot.
The book takes right off at the coronation— that’s when the bigger plot line truly sets in and everything starts become more interesting.
The betrayals coming in at every angle, the plot twists twisting in multiple spots, the unexpected alliances (if you can even call it a true alliance??)
It is truly a great read, but you have to move through the first part of the book that deceives you into thinking the book is all about something when it is actually about another thing entirely and that was just the entree warning you up for the main course

I was excited going into this as the ending of Shadows of Light set this book up perfectly, and I was not disappointed.
The enemies/reluctant allies relationship between Sahira and Orin is my favourite thing in this series.
Sahira is such a strong willed, strong minded fmc and I couldn’t not love her.
Orin is a wicked asshole who you can’t help but love when you see his admirable qualities start to peak through.
UGH it was so good, I was addicted and I’m so excited for the next Sahira and Orin story

I was not disappointed by the Lexi and Cole relationship finale. The bumpy road that was taken to get to the solution was well thought out. The extra conflict at the end seemed out of place and rather random, but ended up being a vital plot line to set up the next book. The betrayal was something that was set up nicely from previous books; I had my skepticism about that character and to have it turn out right made me so happy!!

I could not get enough of this book. I hated when I had to put it down to do daily tasks.
Sloane is all too relatable, and seeing her find love after being so unforgivably hurt by the people who were meant to love her the most was warming.
Xavier was a refreshing MMC in Ana Huang’s universes. He didn’t mess around and held truthful and honest with Sloane the entire way through. He knew what he wanted and never shied away from telling Sloane how it was.
A moment of silence for The Fish
