really fun and interesting! love the concept and i’m a big fan of dystopias. the only downside is the many pop culture references from the 80’s that i had no idea what they were. so i was unsure what was fiction and what was an actual game, song, band, movie, etc.

i know the main premise of the book was not the love story between the MC and art3mis but i do wish at the end, their scene together was drawn out just a little bit more. it seemed rushed but at the same time, it wasn’t the plot of this book.

i am surprised that this is the authors first novel he’s ever wrote, and it got made into a steven spielberg movie. i will now go watch the movie.

every time i put the book down, i was looking forward to the next time i got to read it. it was a fun read, genuinely.

the twists and turns i had during this were so fun to experience

the brother being killed?

the guy basically cursing himself to become stronger?

the girl betraying her sister and cutting off her finger so she can become champion???

the girl fucking up a spell so she loses her powers right before the tournament starts??

this book was so fun to read and i immediately knew i was going to have to get the second one

it was good, not great. i hit a very big reading slump in the middle of it and it was hard to keep coming back to it. although ultimately i knew i wanted to know how it ended so i did keep coming back.

the ending was nice, a little predictable with briony dying at the end just because she was the one who was constantly fighting to end the curse the entire time.

gavin and alistair are so cute, i love them together. too bad they didn’t actually move away together but i get it.

didn’t really care for isobel and reid’s storyline, i just didn’t really like isobel or briony that much

glad i finished it but the first book was much better

loved this book. the only problem i had was i felt like it was a little too face past in terms of them falling in love. although i think i just like a slow burn and i don’t think this is it so thats just a personal thing. but the main characters are very cute and i love the whole ballenger family slowly taking her in

i believe this was better than the first which is very hard to believe bc that’s usually never the case. i loved it. the twists and turns, the near deaths, the love, everything. loved it!

it was very light in the romance but it was very good. the small twists the story took me on was surprising. i really liked this book. especially the end when rowan basically became scythe lucifer by killing the bad scythes with fire

this could’ve been just me, but this book put me into a slump. the beginning was good, the ending was great, but in the middle i stopped reading it.

it could’ve been that i was focusing on school and my relationships, but it took me what feels like forever to finish this book

will i buy and read the 3rd one? absolutely.

this took me longer than usual to finish, i had to keep taking breaks and coming back and im not sure why. maybe its just because i was getting tired of the story but it was a good story. i was still interested in it.

this had a phenomenal ending. loved it. even though everything wasn’t entirely wrapped up into a little bow, it was still so good. i’m glad rowan and citra were able to end up together, that goddard is gone and scythe rand was able to get tyger back. i’m glad that jeri and greyson ended up sort of together.

the scene where greyson gives up the thunderhead just because of how it used jeri was so sad. it was incredibly sweet and thoughtful but so sad considering that it was basically his best friend throughout his life.

good start, good ending, BORED AS HELL in the middle. i wasn’t not expecting the book to take such a heavy revolutionary turn but it did and i didn’t like it. when they started to recruit was when i heavily lost interest. i had to force myself to keep reading which is why it took me over a month to read. but then once i got back into it, i was in the groove of the story again. plus i liked how mave syaryed to push everyone away and she was on her own. the tension between her and cal got me so intrigued.
