This book was a FIRST for me. I’ve never read any smut that had aliens/monsters but god was it GREAT. I loved this read a bunch and I cant wait to read more
Georgie was definitely a character and I loved it. She was such a badass and so smart. She was so caring too which was definitely what made me like her more. I love her determination.
Now let’s be honest here, the whole alien sex thing is so hot. The ridges, the bumps, the extra-ness that all happened. It was definitely something to love and it was loved, by me.
It’s time for me to read book 2 and I can’t wait to
This was me second Katee Robert book and I loved it. It was definitely not what I was expecting but Helen was definitely an awesome kick-ass fmc. I loved how vulnerable we got to see Achilles and Patroclus throughout the novel. The triple pov was definitely something I loved, especially because they were all main characters.
Helen is such a broken, but strong individual. She’s been through so much, but holds her head up high. She’s definitely the bravest female in the series so far to me.
Achilles wasn’t my favorite character. He was very cocky and quite frankly a dick. Patroclus was very hard to really have an opinion of. He was all about Achilles even when he hurt him MULTIPLE TIMES. He even gave up some things just for him. But I digress
This book was phenomenal. I loved the storyline, the characters, and the representation shown throughout the book.
This novel was really relatable, for both males and females. Embarrassing families, mental health, the hardships of finding love after a bad relationship/breakup. It was all so great.
This book made me cry in so many good ways. This was my first book by the author Abby Jimenez and i definitely plan to read more.
I’m all for LGBTQ books, but this one was just too much for me. I loved the idea of a Christian girl finding out she’s lesbian (bisexual maybe? Idk it never said) and it becoming a thing. It works and makes sense. What didn’t work for me was how EVERY character turned out to be a lesbian or bisexual or gay. It just doesn’t make sense when the book is based in a Christian academy in Alabama.
The plot of the book itself was really good, a girl goes missing and the 3 people shes kissed/ led on in the past week are searching for clues to find her. It was a great idea and I loved reading about their adventure and how they found out more about themselves throughout the book. I just wish that every character wasn’t LGBTQ, it’s okay to be an ally and it’s okay to like the opposite gender. While the book touched on gender and gender identity, it was very vague and it was more like a glimpse.
Brothers best friend that broke your heart, a common trope, but a hot one. Olivia (Liv) fell for Parker, her brothers best friend 4 years ago, and then he broke her heart and she ran away to Georgia. 4 years later shes at work, when her she runs into her brother… and Parker. And they force her to go back home to Tennessee. But now Parker is engaged and set to get married soon, but can he keep the feelings for Liv that he never lost at bay or will he break a heart again to get what he wants?
Parker is a HOT ASS man. He’s a tattoo artist who is simultaneously a badass. Well used to be before his fiancé Emily came into the picture. But when he sees Liv again while at his bachelor party, he can’t help but let the rush of feelings for her come flooding back and before he knew it he was falling for her again. And let me tell you, the whole “I can’t have you so nobody can” thing, never used to be hot to me. Until Parker entered the picture.
Liv definitely fit my expectations throughout the novel. She didn’t want Parker to break another heart so she kept her distance. But that doesn’t work too well for her. I love how we got a dual perspective (or maybe even a quad perspective if you count the flashbacks) and we got to see how they both went through the process of falling in love and breaking apart. It was heart wrenching, but it built a love for both characters. I loved the smut in the end, it was hot. Liv’s “fuck me like you hate me” was SO FUCKING HOT, I might have to use it 😅👀 but seriously the smut was well written and definitely did what it needed to.
This was definitely a HOT book. I loved the magical aspect of the book, as well as the king vs servant trope. It was super enjoyable because the interactions made sense with their respected jobs and titles. Although Cailin was definitely a badass heroine who stuck to her guns, even when it could’ve killed her. She was sassy, smart, and diligent.
I love how the only reason that she’s there is to heal the kings future wife/wifes in the running, but she ends up doing what she least expected to do. She’s definitely dirty and knows how to get what she wants, but I think my favorite part was the massage scene, that was SO HOT. I need my husband to give me a massage like that now.
The Ash King was just his level of hotness. He had a power he could barely understand and a kingdom that hated him for all the wrong reasons. He needed a queen, but a queen that would calm his storms and his eruptions. Especially when he got to the point of what felt like no return. The things that we fin$ out about his past and childhood were heart wrenching. I couldn’t believe it at all. It made sense why he was such an asshole. I loved his character so much, especially at the end. He became such a wonderful man that I’m sure I would’ve loved if I lived in the kingdom.
If you know me, I love retellings, especially when it’s about villains. So I was so excited to jump into this book. Especially once my soon to be sister-in-law recommended it to me. And let me tell you, she did not disappoint with this recommendation.
The book starts off strong with some wonderful arguing and CNC, but it was all hot, hot, hot. Jasmine definitely had some STRONG character development and it was great. We got to see her go from a sassy 25 year old that is a caged bird, to a wonderful queen. But the way she gets there was AMAZING. I didn’t see the Ali scene coming in the slightest. I definitely don’t think that there was any other way I would’ve rather had that scene go. I loved every second of it.
Jafar was so EASY to hate. I hated him immediately. He was definitely so arrogant and stuck in his ways, until the end. He was totally in it for the money and power, but love can change a man, and it did. I loved getting to see how he changed throughout the whole book and how he became more infatuated with Jasmine.
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
5.0
I was recommended this book by my aunt, whose basically a sister to me, and I am so glad I took her recommendation because this book was phenomenal. I loved the trauma bonding that was done and how vulnerable Katie was during the whole novel. She just wanted a friend and would do anything to keep the only one she had.
Teenage years are weird and difficult, I can’t imagine what it was like for Tilly. She had so many traumatic events happen to her before she turned 18. I loved her drive and how she just wanted to make a name for herself and be loved by everyone, since her mother couldn’t (which is so sad, but so relatable for so MANY people). The one thing I hated about Tilly was that she was so arrogant and blinded by her own drive.
The climax of this book felt like it was always going to come sooner , rather than so late in the novel. Every time that they drifted apart, because of life and how life changed for them both so differently, I felt like that was going to be the breaking point that broke their friendship up. But the actual event was JAW DROPPING. I’ll be the first to admit, I hated Tilly after the event, but god the way that she made up with Katie after ykw was so sweet and made me bawl.
I recommend this to any and everyone. I have friends who don’t read whatsoever and they love this book. This is definitely a wonderful read.
This was a wonderful ending to the Divergent series. I didn’t like the beginning at first, I didn’t like Tris acting the way she was, until I got to understand why she was acting the way she was. Allegiant taught some wonderful lessons about family, relationships, and friendships. And I’m so glad I got to read this novel
This novel was jaw dropping. The things we learn about this world, is definitely crazy. I never expected half of them to happen. It was almost as if every time Tris and Tobias tried to calm down, something new happened or was learned. I definitely didn’t see the factionless event happening (iykyk) but it was crazy. I was just itching for more, and I indeed got it.
Tris and Tobias are so toxic for each other in this book, but at the same time they’re 16 and 18, Tris is barely even understanding and processing anything that’s going on and she’s just flying through everything without understanding the aftermath, but at the same time, grief and pain does that to a lot of people. She hadn’t dealt with loss previous to this book, and it definitely hit her hard. She lost a lot of important people in this novel.
Tobias had so many events happen to him that I could barely comprehend how he was walking, but at the same time so many men do that, they don’t let life get to them. But I know it was breaking him every time Tris did something reckless. He was definitely more rational, but you could definitely see moments that he was acting like his father (again iykyk) and it was a little disheartening. I got worried for him and Tris throughout the novel. But the cliffhanger this novel leaves you on is so heartbreaking. I had to get Allegiant, luckily my library had it and I got it and finished it.
