If you know me, I love retellings, especially when it’s about villains. So I was so excited to jump into this book. Especially once my soon to be sister-in-law recommended it to me. And let me tell you, she did not disappoint with this recommendation.
The book starts off strong with some wonderful arguing and CNC, but it was all hot, hot, hot. Jasmine definitely had some STRONG character development and it was great. We got to see her go from a sassy 25 year old that is a caged bird, to a wonderful queen. But the way she gets there was AMAZING. I didn’t see the Ali scene coming in the slightest. I definitely don’t think that there was any other way I would’ve rather had that scene go. I loved every second of it.
Jafar was so EASY to hate. I hated him immediately. He was definitely so arrogant and stuck in his ways, until the end. He was totally in it for the money and power, but love can change a man, and it did. I loved getting to see how he changed throughout the whole book and how he became more infatuated with Jasmine.
