A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

The book is based on a Hades and Persephone retelling in a modern context ‘New Athens’. I really loved the two main characters and their relationship. IO felt at times some parts really didn’t[t need to be in there, however upon a second reading it made allot more sense.

Hades is both the God of the Underworld and also the owner of a club called Nevernight, where mortals and gods come to make bargains with their souls. Persephone is a Goddess who has not obtained her power and is focusing on graduating University and becoming a Journalist. And as the classic tale goes, they become inter winded by the fates, much to the displeasure of her mother, Demeter.

“Respect souls build and empire. Trust could make it unbreakable. Love could make it last forever” ✨
